Curiosity question. Is a Rolls Razor blade the same size as a standard SE blade? In other words, can I use the Rolls to sharpen other stroppable SE blades?

    Razor: Valet Auto Strop VC1
    Blade: Modified Gem PTFE
    Brush: Stirling First
    Lather: Stirling Sharp Dressed Man
    Post: Clubman Original
Yet another awesome shave with the VC1, a very dependable razor, and when paired with the GEM PTFE blades I know I'll have a solid shave (assuming technique, lather, prep are good of course). Love the look of this razor and how easy it is to find the shaving angle. It is also quite chatty, it sings as it reduces my stubble, music to my ears

Had a great shave with my E3 today. I remember when I thought it was too aggressive but now it is one smooth close shaving character. A 2 pass shave as close as can be with no irritation nicks or errors. I'm going to be keeping it in the rotation for a while. Have a nice relaxing Sunday everyone!

How do you like the soap, performance wise?

I had a bottle of the Ogallala sage and cedar bay rum A/S last year, and I really enjoyed the scent profile. I don't need any soaps right now, but always planning for the future!

I'm really happy with the Ogallala soap it lathers up very well for me and the protection seem to he very good I have no complaints of course YMMV . In fact I plan on ordering more next week the line and peppercorn, the sage and cedar, the bay rum, and possibly the orange and spice I think it is.

I just found out you can get the Ogallala aftershave in 'double strength' !

You won't regret the cedar and sage...

Had to try out my "G" for the first time to see how well it compared to my "I" with Personna blade. Well, it delivered, with a tad bit of irritation. But for me any way, that sometimes happens to me on the first shave, then gets smoother. Still got a BBS shave, cooled it off with cold witch hazel and after shave balm. Will it perform as well as my "I" for the rest of the shaves, I don't see why not. I like the "I" very much, perhaps due to a different handle shape and I hold it well........... IMG_0618.jpg

No, the rolls is a wedge blade. it basically looks like a section off a straight razor

    Short answer: No.

Not only is the Rolls blade a wedge type blade as mentioned above, it isn't even a standard wedge blade. The Rolls is a totally unique system - none of the parts are compatible with anything else. The blade mounts into the hone/stropper via a hole in the spine of the blade. With a properly honed blade the Rolls is a great shaver.

Thank you both for the response. While I'm still very intrigued by this razor it doesn't satisfy both functions like I was hoping. I'm putting it on the back burner for now but I still want one.

    Today's shave: Sunday July 24, 2016

    PAL Injecto-Matic (British made)
    NOS Personna 74 blade (2)
Fine Angel Hair 20mm synthetic brush
    Chiseled Face Groomatorium Cryogen soap
    Pinaud Clubman aftershave

Wow - hard to believe that I haven't used this razor since October. Is it possible that I might have . . . too many razors?

    Nah, that's crazy talk.

This British made Injecto-Matic features a chrome finish, the Schick style handle, and a bright purple collar that is just too cool for words. It's in pristine condition and a great shaver.

If I had to choose between it and the Schick early E2 that I used yesterday . . . well, I don't have to. They can be my co-favorite vintage injectors (although I could make a case for the PAL Adjustable, too).

This was yet another super close BBS shave.
Cryogen is worth mentioning, too. Of course it has a massive menthol blast that must be experienced to be believed, but it's also a really good soap, with a great post-shave face feel - once you regain some feeling in your face. :Animatedfrozensmily:

I'm interested in picking up a Schick single edge, but don't know much about them. Is there a guide anywhere to the various models regarding how mild or aggressive they are? I would like something similar to my NDC or 1962 SuperSpeed.

    Thanks, Tony

Schick is a different animal. You want a J type.

Nothing wrong with starting with a G-type or Hydro-Magic. I have both and they are excellent performers. Agile and quick workers.

Schick Injectors Generally Get Milder as they Move through the Timeline from the Most Aggressive Type E s to the Kinda Middle of the Road Type G..The Models after the Type G were Milder but Pretty Much Shave the Same from then On After..The Last Model being the Type O for the Japanese Market being the Mildest of them All..;)

    The Timeline..:angelic007:
