I am waiting on a razor. Interesting, to me anyway, looking Clauss 5/8 full hollow spike with aluminum scales.
Adding to the Hone Arsenal: I finally yielded to temptation and purchased a Belgian coticule from Ardennes. I look forward to seeing what type of smooth edges can be pulled from this stone. It'll be slick to be able to compare the coti edges to synthetics and other naturals.
Direct. If you use this drop down window... ...and select 'straight razors' you'll be taken to a page where those coticule appropriate for razors will be displayed. Choose size....add to basket. Boom!
I got to the straight razor selection , but then they're all odd shaped. I assume the bigger the cm2 the more the cost. Do they all come in the wooden boxes? Are the dark regular rectangular one man-made? I mean nasa aint a knockin', but that site could be a bout a wee bit clearer. Good luck with your new hone, I'm sure you'll make some fine edges.
Those are the BOUTS- irregular shaped stones. There are three windows with varying sizes and prices for these bouts. There are nine windows total on the page (are you browsing on a phone or pc?); top 3 are coticule bouts; middle 3 are the Belgian Blues (BBWs); the bottom three are the RECTANGULAR coticules (standard and selected). You pay for real estate, so the bigger the block, you more moolah it costs. Boxes come with rectangular stones 50x150mm or larger. All come with matching slurry stone.
I'm waiting for a Whipped Dog synthetic brush, 30mm. I love the 24mm, so I'm really looking forward to trying the "big one"
Thanks to my good friend @Billyfergie I am awaiting a 5.2 ounce Valobra shave soap. I found one on the Bay for a reasonable price. I trust Billy's judgment.
If you like it you can get a kilo of it reasonably cheap for the quantity Sent from my Galaxy S6 using Tapatalk
Picked up two old brushes on the cheapish side. Brush 1 One a NOS/NIB Kent (below). I really like the shape of the white handle. It comes with original box. 22mm (48mm loft) single band Pure Badger knot (from where Kent's pure badger supposedly were very good) Brush 2 ...and one 'maybe Kent' brush (I really don't know). It has a patent number "715631" and "Made in England" I found a reference to Kent for that patent number (but now I can't find it again..) and the design remind me a lot about another Kent brush. This is the one I picked up (for less than $10 it was worth it to get a red brush and the knot seems ok); This is the Kent brush it reminds me of; Anyway, I'll see when I get them in a week or so.
