Go on, give in, it's less than $20. What's the worst that can happen.

So basically, if any new converts are starting out on TTO or adjustable, this is a great month!

Like those that choose The Fat or The Veg my focus will be nearly a Rule for 30 days. Plus I'm hoping to add data points to the Grand Blade Trial ;) Just because it's my favorite razor doesn't mean I can't get improvement!

We see to advise newbies to stick with a single razor model until they could shave to bbs in the dark.

Exactly. This would be a perfect time to start on those razors. Lots of people using them so great group of advisers to have around in the learning process.

The worst that could happen? Well, considering it would ship from Portugal that would add another country that I'd be receiving something from. Russian, Turkey, England, Portugal, South Korea, Japan.....I'm pretty sure the FBI has me on a watch list already. Especially with the volume I tend to get from Russia. So, yeah, under 20 bucks, tempting, could be a good one to add, I do like the name "Excelsior". Sounds classy. So I might consider it and risk the feds. But I'm not promising.....oops......yah that "buy now" button works. Wow. Only a week to 10 days to ship. Not bad. And a tracking number? Nice.

If you have Amazon Prime, you could have it in 2 days

I had them for awhile. Didn't seem to pay off for m. Yeah, two days is nice for shipping, but I wasn't buying enough stuff to make it seem worth the price. A bit of cheapskate syndrome bit me.

Unfortunately the bulk sum of what I know is that they are called Royal Red and their wrapper is very very red. Sorry I can't help more.

Not 100% sure, but I believe they are made in Germany to be distributed by MD Barber supply. Possibly rebranded Merkurs.

    August Focus Day 1:

    Stirling Synthetic Brush
    Dettol Fresh SC
    Gem Junior
    Osage Rub
    Stirling Unscented PSB
    Stirling Glacial Lemon Chill AS

First shave of the month, and it was similar to how last month wrapped up. I used the Gem Junior again, and this was a great shave. Two easy passes for a DFS. A little Glacial Lemon Chill AS put the perfect finishing touch on this shave. Off to start a new month at work. I hope everyone has a great day!

I'll continue my route 66 sampling while rotating razors. The Sharp star and WD synthetic so) stay constant.

I'm up to 11 2 pass BBSs from the Tech/Sharp Star combo. I'm feeling like @Bama Samurai 38th his 20+ day GSB. Does this mean my technique is that amazing or his it just a magical blade?

I like that the poll had an option for mosquitos. When I was last near STL I was in basic training in Ft Leonard wood. Our Still Sergeants told is not to shoot the mosquitos because it just pissed them off. Being from South Florida I didn't think it could be that bad but, I was proven wrong. The MO mosquitos are smaller than FL ones but they swarm worse. Dark clouds desended on is at disk every day. I think they even learned to like deet and permethrin.

True although, for the most part, I'm not dealing with disasters. The 60s SuperSpeed, for instance, was just coming off a bit too mild to me though I now realize that was probably a function of the blade I was using. Similarly, next week's razor, the Super-109, shaves as well as my Slim, but something is causing me to hold it in a way that ends up being uncomfortable.

The only real disaster was my first and only outing with the Cadet. Way too much blood and something which could be termed an abrasion.

That's a combination you never want to see in a sentence. "Could be termed"........scary.

While the Sharp Star is a high end blade, give yourself at least 30% of the credit. You've earned it.

I found one place the mosquitoes were worse than Fort Lost in the Woods. North Dakota/Minnesota. They come in two sizes there, both aggressive. The small ones fit through the holes in the screen door. The big ones just rip the door off the hinges.

    Straight Focus.
I have decided to do another straight focus. I will start learning to hone this month as well. There will be a razor rotation, but I plan on sticking with my Wolf Whiskers brush for the month.
First shave was a Menthol Monday
    Proraso Pre-Shave Cream
    Proraso Green Cream
    Wolf Whiskers Brush
    Wade and Butcher 7/8
    Alum
    Osage Rub
    Fine Snake Bite AS
    Have a great Monday![IMG]

Basically, I ended up with a spot next to my mouth that looked like a skinned knee. Not fun.
