Today was the maiden voyage of my new to me PAL Injectomatic.

I lathered up some Stirling glacial lemon chill with my Semogue boar (I'm in the "use it till it's empty" club) for a nice and cool lather on this hot summer morning. This soap provides a rich and slick lather that will really open your eyes early in the morning.

I applied no pressure when using the razor and just let it glide over my face. The first pass was fantastic! There wasn't a whisker left in its path! Just for good measure, I relathered and did a second pass because I was going for a BBS today. I guess I got a little careless and nicked my nostril. You know those hard to reach spots. Nothing bad, but the blood did flow for a moment. I'll blame this one on myself and not the razor as I've done this many times in the past with other razors. I also had one small weeper above the lip that that I normally wouldn't even consider, but I am writing a review now.

Anyway, I did achieve a BBS with the PAL in two easy passes and got a "dolphin" smooth shave! This razor definitely feels more aggressive than the Schick E and could be compared to a fatboy on a 7 or a red tip. It did not feel as smooth on my face as a Schick E or G, but that is due to the aggressiveness of the razor. The injectomatic clearly provided the closer shave for me.

The weight, balance and maneuverability of this razor is excellent! You can easily get this razor in all of the more difficult spots on your face.

As far as the handle goes, well, I like it. I think it provides an excellent grip and the little angle end is a good spot to place your ring finger or pinky.

If you've used Schick injectors and like them, the PAL should be on your short list. Aggressive, efficient and well balanced! It really is that good!

    Blade: Chinese Schick
    Razor: Schick G1 injector
    Brush: Vulfix 2006C badger
    Lather: La Toja
Post: Witch hazel splash enhanced with Barbasol Pacific Rush, Nivea sensitive balm
    WTG, touch-up

The G1 works well again! My little injector is a wonderful razor. I'm thankful to also have the opportunity to try several other injectors in the pass-arounds that are active right now. The Schick H will be arriving soon!

Let me also put in a plug for La Toja soap. Really good stuff! The lather is easy to produce, shiny, rich, slick - all the stuff you're looking for. I'm getting a shave stick as part of a trade and I'm looking forward to more shaves with La Toja.

Hope you have a great day!

Exceptionally smooth shave this morning with the Schick N1 injector razor loaded with a twin blade. The Haslinger shave stick made for some wonderful face lathering goodness. Three passes and I am dolphin smooth and refreshed. Enjoy your day friends. :)

This was the sixth shave of my week of shaves with the PAL Injecto-Matic. Weird handle, but I got used to it. Another excellent shave. It is definitely a keeper.

Awesome! I cant wait to use mine. Waiting for it to get here and then waiting for the blades to be honed will be agony.

I really enjoyed the Damaskeene. I meant to use this morning, but in my rush to pack my back last night, I grabbed the 1924 instead. The Damaskeene and 1914 have both been great in my early shaves with them. Really, they make me wonder why I have favored DE so much.

At some point, I would like to try a curved top. But, I am very please with this one so far.

    Today's Shave: Wednesday August 10, 2016

    J. A. Henckels Rapide
    Henckels Twinworks wedge blade (7)
    The Grooming Co. synthetic brush
    Haslinger Schafmilch soap
    English Leather aftershave

Recent discussions motivated me to break out my Henckels Rapide today. The Henckels is essentially a clone of the later Ernst Scharff Rapide, with blade stops and spring-loaded blade holders, but with a larger knurled handle. It feels solid in the hand, more like a C. V. Heljestrand than the Scharff Rapide.

Given Henckels' reputation one might expect that the Twinworks blade is made of top quality Solingen steel, and indeed it is. My honing skills are a work in progress, but this blade took a wicked edge and is doing just fine 7 shaves after being honed.

This style of razor requires an extremely light touch and close attention to the angle. The comb really only serves to guide the lather/cut whiskers away, rather than any sort of safety function.

I did my part and was rewarded with a super-close BBS shave. Just a touch of irritation, caused by a momentary lapse of focus. Once can call these razors a lot of things, but forgiving is not one of them. Screw up and you will pay a price.

So, why did injectors go out of style. They're as simple with blade changes as cartridges and light years better.

    Why? Can anyone answer why?

Injectors blow away any cartridge razor I've ever used and is "safer" than a DE. What was there that people saw in cartridges that they didn't see in injectors?

@Bird Lives , can you explain for Roby and me?

My Wilkinson Sword Empire set came today. I'm very happy with the condition everything is in, including the blade. As it is right now the blade is sharp enough to shave arm hair.

Nice One..Shaving Arm Hair Doesn't Mean its Necessarily Shave Ready...That Said..Those Wilky Blades were Shave Ready from the Factory..Mine were NOS & Greased..I Just Stropped them & they Were Good to Go..Check the Edge for Pitting & Or Jagged & Ruff Edges Under a Micro Lens..They Might be Fine..If they have any Jagged or Ruff Edges or Pitting they Will Need Honed..;)

These Blades were Not Designed to Be Honed by the Way..They were Kinda Disposable Blades after a Refresh on Pastes they Got Dumped but they Can Be Honed & they Need Gentle Honing..:)

These Sets were For Posh Folks..:happy097:
