Razor: Schick H injector (aka Hussy, on pass-around from @ob1page)
    Brush: Artisan badger
    Lather: TSD Barber Shoppe
Post: Witch hazel splash, TSD Barber Shoppe, Nivea sensitive balm

Interesting experience! The first pass beard reduction was not all that good. I found the angle pretty well but had a few struggles on my neck and surprisingly the upper lip area. I relathered and went in for the second pass. Now things were starting to become really smooth. I did have to grab my trust G1 to finish off my upper lip. I just couldn't get it close enough with the Hussy. More time and experience with it will bring better results.

I enjoyed the experience and look forward to tomorrow's shave. It's definitely a unique razor!

    Have a great day!

Thanks to @Karl G I changed over to a Personna for a much smoother shave.

You may already be doing this but try placing the rounded top of the spring on your face and then lowering the angle until the guard bar also makes contact. That's the angle you want. After that things should take care of themselves with the normal light touch, etc. Hope that works for you. :)

Wow! What a fantastic shave. I had 2 days growth so the GEM had it's work cut out for it. Did it ever step up to plate! Three passes and I'm dolphin smooth, not a single hair was missed. The MITA performed great as usual, nice lather, great protection, cooling menthol and a wonderful citrus scent. It paired wonderfully with my Old Spice lime. What a great way to start the week! Have a great day folks!

    Today's Shave: Monday August 15, 2016

    Schick I1
    NOS Schick Injector Twin blade
    The Grooming Co. synthetic brush
    Cryogen soap
    Aqua Velva Musk aftersahve

This is a very ordinary Schick I1 with the chrome plating showing serious brassing. I think I paid $8 or so for it including shipping. Being a mild shaver it would not even have piqued my interest . . . were it not for Twin blades. Load a NOS or Japanese Schick Injector Twin into this razor and it is transformed into a lean, mean, whisker whacking machine. In addition, the ribbed handle provides a great grip. A menthol blast from the Cryogen, two easy quick passes and a few touch-ups and I am ready to face the day with a great shave. :happy088:

I just got my first Schick Adjustable, an M3 "Protector" (see August Haul thread for pictures). Tomorrow should be my first shave with it.

A question... As I understand it, 1 is the mildest setting and 8 is the most aggressive. Where would a J1 (my usual Injector) fall on that scale?

Very much my experience yesterday. As a result I overdid the 2nd and 3rd pad and my skin was irritated, but I had a very, very close shave. Today no irritation, but not as close.

Exalted ones, I need your advise regarding honing my Rapide SE blade. I got my lapping film in today and couldn't wait to get started. So I took my Rapide blade dulled the edge by running it on the corner of one of my stones and proceeded to set the bevel. On the 15 Micron I did circles until I got an even looking bevel across the blade then I did 60 or so straight strokes and checked to see if it would pop arm hair, it did all the way across the blade. I then proceeded up the progression to the 5,3,1 micron sheets each time doing 40 ish circles on each side followed by 60-80 straight strokes. After I was done with the 1 micron sheet my bevel looked like a mirror and would easily shave arm hair at the base but would not pass the hht by any means and would not shave (I tried a little patch on my cheek). So my question is where should I go from here. Should I go all the way back to 15 micron and work on setting the bevel some more or should I go back to 5 and work my way up the progression again. One other thing I don't yet have my strop so I cant do anything with pastes or stropping.

The Schick Adjustable is Not an Aggressive Injector Like the PAL Adjustable..1 is the Mildest Setting ..Around the N0 7 Setting it will be About the Same as the J1..It Kinda Looses Efficiency after that in My Books..:)
