Thank goodness for the round point but that heel looks as though you best pay attention!

I am not sure why the square points give me a much bloodier time than a pointed heel. In the beginning I was worried about the heel but these days it does not draw blood too often. The heel does inspire me to focus more than normal.

You are right if this razor did not have round point it might be on the way to a new owner.

Back to learning my SR. Thanks @Jim99 for the analogy of shaving the lather - nice tip. Today's lesson was you can't force a good SR shave. The good news is there was improvement over my first two shaves. :happy088:

It's great to hear that the shaves are improving.

It was not all that long ago, months ago actually, when I started SR shaving. It was a real struggle for me and I almost quit! As my wife says, I'm stubborn and I don't give up. My SR shaves now are close, comfortable and done in 20 minutes. What's seems so elusive today will become second nature in time.

A couple of key things to do is watch your angles and keep the spine just a couple of spine widths off your face, wet lather is slicker than a thick one, your blade must be in tip top shape and properly honed, only pull the blade perpendicular to your face, stretch your skin, make steady strokes, and shave the lather.

One more tip is to have fun with your new found skill and relish in every success!

Wait a minute... Are you telling me that Scotty wasn't really from Scotland and it's a fake accent? You're bursting my bubble!

I bet you're going to tell me next that the Geico gecko is not from the UK!

I hate to be the bearer of bad news. He did have a rather distinguished service record with the Royal Canadian Artillery, in spite of the fact he was shot 6 times by one of his own sentries.
