Congratulations to "Doc" on his Northern Dragon from Mama Bear!::

I WILL be buying some in the future. With that in mind, if you could create your own shaving soap scent, what would it be? I would create "Copenhagen Caress" a blend of valencia orange, lemon, jasmine, oakmoss, and amber modeled after a certain cologne that for some reason works for me.

Thanks, Trader Joe has a good one too! :D

Have you tried asking Mama Bear if she can hook up that flavor for you?

These are all fragrances that I have.. Jasmine is incredibly expensive tho. However, if you can find a recipe for it, I can do it for you hon. :: :D

    Rich ...
I'm working on some right now.
I combined MamaBears Sapwood and Smokin soaps and I really like the results.
I've been experimenting by using my soapy water technique and mixing soaps...pretty easy and a lot of fun ;)

That's an idea. I wonder if I got the cologne and added some to an unscented soap? hmmm....wheels are turning. Now, I have to go to Mama Bear's page and look at all the soap ingredients. :D

I'd love to have a soap that smelled like YSL's Rive Gauche, which is a cologne that pays homage to the barbershop scents of old -- sorta like Barbasol shave cream.

I don't want to go back to goo-in-a-can, but wouldn't mind the scent ;)

Hmmm... i used to play with eo's a few years back. I always wanted to try bergamot, ginger, rosemary, lavender, and a pine (more likely a fir) as a blend. I'm thinking that in a soap, i'd have to leave out the ginger, it'd probably burn a little.

At the moment I seem to be on a black pepper kick too. I've been buying alot if black pepper blends. I wonder about a black pepper and lavender.

Sweet birch is also really nice (it smells faintly of root beer), I think i'd have to play with a straight sweet birch, or maybe a blend too.

I guess I'd have to make a few, lol.

Looking at Mama Bear's soap there are several that mixed together might work nicely. Bay Rum & Lime comes to mind.

I'd love to have a soap that was close to Trumpers Eucris, however that's a pretty complicated scent

I came up with an EO concoction of Sandalwood, organic Lavender, organic Cedarwood, Cypress, Vetiver, and a touch of sweet Marjoram. I was using a few drops of Fir needle also, but I found it to be too much evergreen for my tastes. It is almost perfect now. I am thinking it would be nice with just a drop of two of vanilla. That would really highlight the lavender. This EO concoction is mixed into a tub of AOS unscented.

In this same tub I also added a little olive oil and a very small amount of clove oil. The clove oil gives it a nice warming sensation, and the olive oil seems to enhance the already superb lubricating quality of the AOS cream.

This is about the best scent I have found in any medium. Hopefully it will not change when put in a melt and pour glycerine soap base. If anyone has any input on where to get the very best melt and pour soap, please fill me in.

    Regards,
    Jason

There is a scent I have been craving since I threw the cans of goo away. Recently Joanna agreed to make it for me. Lime with some vanilla, like lime icecream, or lime sorbet. :happy088:signs001 Updates to follow. :D

I got JoAnna to mix up three EOs into some of her soap and cream for me--
    • Bergamot
    • Patchouli
    • Peppercorn
It came out very well, but I dont have a nice, catchy name for it.

How about xCellent? :) It's a take on your user name.

HA -- that works for me!

BTW, do you keep notes on customized blends when they're ordered? I can definitely see myself ordering more when my current stock gets low.

I agree about the valencia orange, lemon, jasmine, oakmoss, and amber, but it's missing a hint of Patch. :)

I do now. Not sure if I did when I made yours though. :ashamed001

I'd have to look through my paper drawer.

I just about went crazy the other day trying to find a written copy of a recipe I was working with. Need to write these all down in a "Final Formula" notebook. :o

How about Bergachoulicorn. Or Pepper Patchamot. Or Berga Cornpatch. Or... ehh... xCellent is probably better.
