Well I'm curious for sure as it wasn't as bad as I had feared, given a few on the boards who have tried it. It may just need a more aggressive setting. I don't think it's among the sharpest of the bunch, which could explain the performance at this level. Tomorrow will help sort it out. Nice yours went well! And yes, we don't want it deciding to join the bad blade club!

 

Mine is dry, but it's been used enough it isn't a definitive Williams. Unless you can smell it.

 

Hold it out the window and I'll confirm.

 

I occasionally have to remind myself how much I like the Astra SP as well. It's the only blade I use for head shaving and it was the first blade I found that I ordered a hundred pack of. Shortly thereafter I found Voskhod and, well, we all know where that took me. Still, Astra is one of those outstanding Russian performers that St. Pete likes to slip in there.

Yep. Still at it. Already thinking about SEptember. Still shaving well, blade shall live on! Can't wait for real football to start. Other than that...all is quiet in Colorado.

SEptember is getting closer everyday. In addition to the SE theme I also declare "Cheap Aftershave Month" as well. Anything you can find in a drugstore/supermarket, that kind of thing. Lots of classics in that list. Aqua Velva, AV Musk, Brut, Old Spice, English Leather and others.....and yes, generic or store brand equivalents count! 8 days to stock up if you need to find some.

 

How about freehand with a Gem SE blade?

 

How long do I need to hold it....arm's getting tired.

 

If it's price is single digit dollars, or it's made by Pinaud, and you can buy it locally---it counts.

Well I do have my athame. Deer antler with handmade Damascus steel blade. Needs a bit of a cleanup and sharpened. Never have honed it or tried to sharpen it.
