The Mitchell's Wool Fat Shave Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #90 Tuxedo synthetic brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Edwin Jagger DE 89 razor with a Wilkinson Sword Super Sword-Edge Stainless blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse and alum block, I finished off with T.N. Dickinson's WH and then Pinaud Vegetal After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Dominica's BR is among the best, isn't it?

It is in my book. It's the brand I always reach for first in the Bay Rum department and if I am not mistaken I have 10 or 11 different Bay Rum brands in my den and 14 BR aftershaves all together.

I like Stephan, but I must say those popular ones do interest me(Domenica, St. John, Captain Choice).

    NCoxSTL AAACK!

I know they are Swedish steel. The wrapper says that at least. I emailed the company and received a response that they will respond. Basically they're still working on the legal filings for the blades and that should wrap up in about a month. I gave them the specific info I'm after, which isn't much really, and hopefully when they get all the loose ends tied up I'll have a bit more info.

I don't know if the current Dominica is the same as the one's that I have. I remember around 3 years ago, give or take couple of months reading in a business section in WSJ or another regarding a fungus wiping out the Pimenta Racemosa trees and harvesting would be pushed back with no ETA so bought 3 bottles each of the regular BR and the Lime just in case. Thankfully back in production but not sure if the same. Maybe someone has tried the old and current bottles and can comment.

    SHAVE OF THE DAY
    20160823_215423.jpg

    Prep: Musgo Real Oakmoss
    Razor: Gillette ball end tech
    Blade: Croma (5th shave)
    Brush: RazoRock plissoft
    Soap: L&L Grooming- Harmony
Post: L&L Cuir Et Espices aftershave (menthol)

2 pass shave, the blade was a bit rough today. Had some burning on the 2nd pass, I hope it was from the blade and not the soap. The Harmony soap has a nice incense/Dragons blood/nag champa type of scent. The lather started off a bit watery but once face lathered it exploded with slick lather. The aftershave has a strong menthol blast (it comes with or without menthol) and the scent reminds me a lot of Van Yulay Grand Lodge. Earthy leathery spice, hard to describe but it's a awesome manly scent. Felt cooling and soothing on the skin. Hope everyone had a great shave!

    Wolf Whiskers Badger Brush
    Speick Shaving Cream
    Dickensons Witch Hazel
    Old Spice w/ a dab of 444

I prefer a tallow soap, but Speick is an exception. It works really well, it moisturizes, and it smells great.
