    Today's Shave: Friday August 26, 2016

    Schick E2 (early model)
    Japanese Schick blade (7)
    Stirling 24mm synthetic brush
    Stirling Glacial Eskimo Tuxedo soap
    Stirling Sharp Dressed Man w/Menthol aftershave

    I decided to shave with the E2 loaded with a Japanese Schick blade (only because that's what happened to be loaded) prior to trying one of the famous "Dutch Danglies" Schick blades tomorrow, so that I would have an E2 shave fresh in my mind for comparison purposes. Gotta say, these Japanese blades are better than their Chinese counterparts or the Personnas. Lovin' the menthol chill! :cool:

    First run with the E5 today:

    All went well. No significant issues. A touch more aggressive than my later injectors, but still a smooth shaver. Finished with bombed Florida water for a refreshing cold water shave after spending the morning out doing some yard work.

    Unless My Eyes are Deceiving me that Injector has Lugs on the Side of the Spring...That Would Probably Make it a Type E 3..:signs002:

    Since it has the black handle, I thought it was an E5??? Pretty sure it is made in Canada, but I'll double check when I get home. I know the spring is captive, ie. there is a tab to prevent it from swinging to the side to open.

    My Canadian Type E 5...No Lugs on the Spring the Same as a Type G or Type E 4..This is the Only One I have Seen..There was a Black Handled Type E 1, Type E2 & E 3..:)

    I'd prefer the gold finish, like my Blue handle G. The Black handle has a nickle or chrome finish. I only say this because pics of finish can be deceiving sometimes on internet. It is a smooth nickle or chrome finish.

    So are they better than the legendary Personna 74 tungsten blades?

    Maybe. At the very least they're just as good. An early E2 loaded with one of these bad boys is one wicked combo - the stuff shaving legends are made of.

    Yeah, it was a pretty good shave this morning. :happy036:
