My vintage Dopp Kit with the fatboy came in. Unfortunately all the containers were empty. But the fatboy is in fantastic shape! It's an E2.

I also received 2 of my 3 knots I bought. The boar is 22mm and smaller than I thought it would be. The badger is 23.5x68mm but unfortunately it won't fit the handle .. It seems like I wasted $25 .. Hopefully I will be able to find a handle one day to use them. I'm waiting on one more knot the handle I have.. Let's hope that one will fit. If not, lol then I've done goofed!

Very nice Ditty bag and Fatboy of course.

As for the 23.5mm knot, you should be able to ream out the opening of your handle with a steel and sanding drum. Just be careful not to go too far. Ive done that to get a knot to fit down deeper in the handle. It will take some of the lip off the top but will still look good. Just a thought.

and after a little 0000 steel wool for the rust spots.
The edge looks very nice, and it is sharp, just needs a new bevel. $13.50
I will be working on it tomorrow. Hopefully it holds a good edge. The flash washed the scales out. They look like the above photo, perfect, with a little patina in the detailings.

Received a NOS "Darwin" of the cartridge world - a Reed & Barton Gillette Atra razor (Sterling silver model).
Came w/ original shipper showing it sold in Bloomingdale's in 1977 for $80.
Picked it up for $27 which is pretty decent deal.

@Jorvaljr For years I've had a similar a Dopp Kit, if not identical. No makers mark. The only clue is on the bottom,"Covered with Top Grain Cowhide" Everything old is new again!

So I put the knot into the handle.. Washed the knot quite a bit. It's only siliconed in now. Unfortunately I couldn't get it down far enough. I just shaved with it. The knot is super soft. I would like to have it go in a little deeper for a little more backbone.

Someone on Amazon called Clubman "Old school-still cool". I LOVED that.

I think there's a limit on how many photos per post so I'm going to split this into two posts.
All of this has been acquired over the past couple of weeks but I've been too busy to post until today.

First up, a few things from a local antique store.

A tired StrongSet brush that needs a new knot and a glass shaving mug. The mug has a haze on the inside that I thought was just soap scum but so far it has defied my efforts to remove it including an overnight vinegar soak so I need to keep working on it. I bought both together for $6.

    005.JPG

And then a Mennen Christmas gift for $6. The talc is full and the A/S smells like it's for display only.

    007.JPG

Three travel size Seaforth jugs that I purchased on the bay for $10. The talc is ok but the liquid stuff is pretty stinky so again, just for display.

    006.JPG

A NOS vintage bottle of the Baron by Evyan completely full and still has the plastic stopper for $20, a new bottle of T&H 1805 A/S balm for $34 shipped, and a Tony Stewart edition Old Spice Pure Sport A/S for $20. I think I paid too much for the Old Spice by buying without doing my research so hopefully it'll sell for more at my estate auction.

And then a nice afternoon yesterday at an antique fair.

A three piece Flag & Sail set for $10. The cologne stinks but the aftershaves are usable.

    002.JPG

    003.JPG

Woodbury cologne over half full and slightly stinky for $7.

    004.JPG

What appears to be a never used travel kit with a no name razor for $15. The mirror is faded but the price tag is still there along with a hand written note in what appears to be German.

    008.JPG

$10 for a never used but definitely faded Gem Micromatic. It still has the paper blade in place and the metal is shiny under the cap so hopefully some gentle cleaning will produce a pristine example.

    009.JPG

    010.JPG

And finally a grab bag of mostly worn out razors but for $12 I couldn't leave it for someone else to find.
