Using a Gillette Flair Tip (Z3) and Rapira Super Stainless blade with a Maggard's Synthetic knot, Orange PSO, Orange Soap, Orange Witch Hazel and Orange Menthol AS for wonderful BBS shave.

 

Gillette Slim with Voskhod blade, Maggard Synthetic, Orange PSO, Orange soap, Orange Witch Hazel and Orange Menthol AS for a great BBS shave.

Thanks! That poor little VDH brush only shed 6 or 8 bristles this shave. I hate to toss it, but one day it's going to be done for.

 

Believe it or not Rick mine eventually did quit shedding and is now a pretty good face lathering brush.

I think @bscarpenter did it and shared in the 30 Day Rule/Focus Group. I warmed a VDH boar brush in a suribachi bowl, emptied the water and added a splash of Florida Water. My Arko is pressed into a small tupperware like container. Loaded up the brush, brought soap to bowl and whipped up a Citrusy Spicey lather. No science to it - more Hoodoo Magic.

 

Works fine with florida water, but watch what you mix into your soap or cream. I tried lime sec and it wasn't good. I think the alcohol in the lime sec combined with the soap did not make a great combo.

TFS Sotto La Mole for me today, which has a very strong citrus scent.
I started the day with lemon tea anyway so it's real Citrus Sunday.

 

An excellent BBS shave with the Gillette Tech (A1) and Voskhod blade.

 

A very nice and comfortable BBS shave. Schick I and Personna blade, Frank Shaving Badger brush, Orange Menthol soap, Witch Hazel and Pinaud Clubman after shave.

 

New OC on Scotch & Stowe handle and Rapira Platinum Lux blade for an excellent three pass BBS shave.
