SOTD: Menthol Monday, August 29 Mike's Peppermint & Rosemary Semogue BC Mistura Merkur Progress (3.5) Personna 74 Tungsten (3) Floïd Mentalado Vigoroso My technique clearly needs to make more Progress with my Progress. It has an unusual balance; indeed, it's one of my heaviest razors. Created a few small "divots" in my chin, as I came around the bend. Quit after two passes. You gotta love Alum. The Floïd is one of my favorite aftershaves. Who doesn't love to smell like they just stepped out of the barber's chair? Have a great day!
It may be all in my head but by first applying the Osage then following up a few minutes later with the AV I think the scent is just as strong but it lasts longer. I get the same effect when I use the Osage/Florida Water combo.
imteresting.....some reviewers of Osage say there's little if any fragrance, it's just COLD and feels nice on the skin. But with that green color, one would have to imagine some mint in there.
a question to which I should know the answer(y'know, Churchill didn't like ending a sentence with a preposition)-what does that Williams mug consist of-hardened soap that needs to be softened before using????
Aug. 29/2016 Monday Razor: Schick Injector J1 Blade: Ted Pella (2) Lather: Nivea Gel A/S: Nivea AS Balm/Brut Newspaper Date: Oct. 25,1944 A 3 pass shave, 1st 2 passes were WTG. The 3rd pass, WTG/ATG/XTG and clean up. The first 2 passes were done with tender, loving care. Everything went smoothly on both passes. The 3rd pass dealt mainly with my boo boo, seems as though I`m making progress, there was a slight infection, but most of that is gone, hooray for Hollywood. Tomorrow should be a "normal" shave. The best to all. Over all maybe a DFS+, satisfied. Bill These papers are encased in plastic, so lighting is difficult. Any suggestions are welcome.
Stellar shave from the Blackbird-Feather combo. The 1912 is awesome soap and the Simpson is broken in now, feels great and makes plenty of smooth abundant lather. Followed up with some Pitralon Classic and a bit of Mazarin balm. Nice. Have a great day everyone.
