    Blade: Chinese Schick
    Razor: PAL Adjustable
    Brush: Semogue 1520 boar
    Lather: TSD Barber Shoppe
Post: Witch hazel splash, TSD Iced Barber Shoppe, Nivea sensitive balm
    WTG, XTG

I had three days' of growth to shave off and still didn't get all that smooth with two passes. This razor is unfamiliar to me so I can chalk part of it up to that. It seemed to bounce around some. I backed way off on the pressure and that helped a little bit, but in the end I had several little nicks and some irritation on my neck. It was not my best shave. Tomorrow will be better!

    Have a great Monday!

I showed the tube to SWMBO and she said "isn't that a dish soap?". They may make dish soap but they also make a fantastic shaving product.

Yes they do and yes it is. Everyone should have this cream, it's not only awesome but very affordable. :happy036:

    Today's Shave: Monday August 29, 2016

    Schick E2 (Early type)
NOS Dutch Schick Platinum blade (3)
    Stirling 24mm synthetic brush
Chiseled Face Groomatorium Trade Winds soap & aftershave

    The thrill is gone . . .

Don't get me wrong - it was actually a perfectly good shave, mostly BBS, on a par with a new NOS Super Chromium or Platinum Plus. It just didn't have the "wow" factor of the first couple of shaves with this blade ("I can't stop touching my face!). Based on this I'd have to conclude that these blades do not "outperform the Personna 74's" (quote from seller) since the 74's seem to go on forever with little or no deterioration in shave quality. Which is not to say they're not good blades - those first two shaves were awesome!

Three shaves on one blade is admittedly a very small sampling, YMMV, etc.

So I'm adding a nice I2 and a second E2 to the family with the intent of trying out trimmed Feather ACs in them. Anybody else doing this crazy shit? (I know the I2 will need a little hacking)

Yes I am. The Feathers are my blades of choice in most injectors. Especially the later injectors. Feathers are readily available as opposed the the old great blades.

They are also about the same price as the Chicks on eBay. So why not. Thanks Tom.

The modified Feather ended up being my favorite blade in the G Types when I tested 5 different blades. :happy088:

You loaded them into a standard magazine ?

Yes. First you need to snip them to length, then load snipped end first into magazine. Remove any burrs before loading.

:signs011: You do need to take a bit of care putting them in so that the edge doesn't rub against the guide on the side.

I guess that's the advantage of the E2 and Hydro-magics, as I understand it one can dispense with the magazine and load the blade directly.

There were 4 Variations of the Type E 2 to My Knowledge..The 1 st Type E 2 Opens Like its Predecessor the Type E 1..The Other Type E 2 Variants Don't Open..You can Load these without a Mag if You Want..I Rarely Open Mine & Just Load them as Normal..:)

The Hydro Needs a Mag to Load it as Normal..The Blade Cannot be Removed by Opening it..It Only Opens for Rinsing...Hence the Term..Models with Rinsing Lever Function from the Manufacturers themselves..:p

Oh..Yeah..Nearly Forgot..The Feather Pro Slots on the Blade Don't Line Up in the Hydro Blade Keepers or Retainer's whatever we Care to Call them..You are Up to Destroy the Hydro Mechanism Trying to Load a Feather Pro Blade..The Hydro Doesn't Take Twins for the Self Same Reason..:happy088:

Just in time for SEptember. My order from Larry at Whipped Dog came in. One poor man's strop kit, one Chinese 12k barber hone, and my hollow ground wedge blade for my Henckels Rapide that I had him hone for me.

I also took the blade that I had honed up on the film and gave it 6 laps on the crox and then 60ish on the strop. Man that baby is sharp, what a difference the crox and strop made. It feels just sticky on the TPT as the blade Larry honed for me. I can't wait to try them both out and compare the edges!

:happy036:There is a Learning Curve in Shaving with these Hollow Ground Blades Mind..You have to Sorta Learn to Shave from Scratch I Reckon..Don't Compare the Shave to Other Razors..Just Look for the Correct Technique because these are Different for Sure..Use a Lighter than Light Touch..Lighter than Ever Before..You Cant Force a Shave with these Kinda Blades..:)

    Enjoy..:eatdrink047:

Tomorrow continues my injector revisit back with what I believe is an E3. If I remember it's not as aggressive as the E2.

Also going to try out my new Captain's Choice bowl, really beautiful, a bit heavy, with nice lather-making ridges on the bottom.
