Thanks Bill! The markings aren't actually there this effect is produced by a filter I used for the photograph.

However this was not to be , and despite not rushing the shave and taking extra strokes the finish was quite patchy and not really acceptable

Thank you. I have enough drama at work so I try not to grow my own problems. For those that haven't tried your soaps, I would highly recommend they give some a try. I am fairly picky and Route 66 soaps are very good.
A very nice three pass BBS shave with the Fatboy, Rapira Swedish Supersteel blade, FS Badger brush, Proraso Green soap and Aqua Velva AS. Yeah, I know, no PSO and no Witch Hazel. Kept it to the basics and still a great shave.

Hello, today's SOTD was done with- 1948 Gillette Milord Tech. 1948 Gillette Blue Blade. Chinese Badger hair brush. Trumpers GFT shave cream. Nivea post shave balm (sensitive). Vintage English Leather cologne. The Gillette Blue Blade from 1948 was as sharp today as it was when it was made. I've gotten some fantastic shaves from these old blades.
