Would anyone be shocked to know I plan on using straights this month?

For my 20th consecutive focus, I plan on using only edges I created. I have been bitten by RAD and HAD, so I have lots of straights and hones. Time to get my skills dialed in enough to get the wild caught ones cleaned up and ready to go. So all of my current smooth shaving razors get a break, and I plan on getting 4 or 5 dialed in this month. Only exceptions- Travel may require a disposable (yuck,) and I have a full restoration coming back from Glenn that may be here this month. That one will get used right away.

:signs011: Your Poll doesn't include many Modern SE safety razors. The OneBlade, Cobra, MonGoose, AlumiGoose, ATT SE-1, and Supply Provision Injector razors. :signs081:

Here is my line up for SEptember. First up will be Tom's famous Bunny V-3 injector. I will follow up with the Schick L-1 injector, my Dad's Schick E-3, the Schick c-3 Repeating Razor, GEM 1912, and finally the GEM G-Bar. I will cycle through these six razors five times during SEptember unless something distracts me. I made this nifty razor holder to keep them straight. It is made of some mahogany that I had on hand.

Sep 1 shave, a very cool Wosty

Four passes and the edge was very smooth. Zero feedback from the alum and just missed BBS.

    Irritation A+ Closeness A- Smoothness A+ Sharpness A-

This razor with the etching gets allot of points for coolness. The only draw back is the size, the blade looks like it is between 4~5/8 and I prefer a bigger blade. With it's smooth edge, coolness factor and heavy grind this razor has made the cut and will stay in the den.

    RyX DoH!

Taking stock of my SE's I have plenty, with two on the way. While some folks have zeroed in on a favorite manufacture, model, or type I'm still experimenting and enjoying the variations.
    Definitely in this months line up;

    1) Below far left; From Tom @twhite The Bunny B-V3.1 with a modified spring. I need to put some shaves on it to evaluate changing blades.
    2) Below center left; From Chris @Bama Samurai a Schick J1. This was my training wheels prior to testing the West Coast B-V3. It's my Standard by which others are judged.
    3) (Not Pictured) Inbound from Ben @ob1page via @twhite 's Pass Around & due in this Friday, A Schick Adjustable. New to me technology - Fun!
    4) (Not Pictured) Inbound from John @John Ruschmeyer , a G1. New to me - Fun! (Enjoy the Fat Boy - We are balanced. It's Chris and Tom I'm scratching my karmic head over)

In the above photo are possible options.

    5) Center; My scrappy little L7 Championship. It shaves well but like a pup with a bent tail gets chosen last in the litter.

    6) Right center; An EverReady that I haven't taken the time to learn. Too many others so it's been neglected.

    7) Far right; Single Edge & Safety; Check! A Frame back straight with a reversible guard. It needs to be honed, probably needs the bevel set. Another refugee from the Island of misfit razors.

    8) Below; A Schick N1 in need of Frankensteining. The handle was secured by duct tape. Removing the tape, I found the plastic had softened from the tape adhesive. It's a project for the future because I haven't tried an N1. If successfully re-handled the L7 might get a new gripper too.

    N1 needs handle.gif

Knowing that Injectors shave so very close I may only get 15 shaves in during the month. Between my first four ready to go or almost here options I think I'm set. :)

    NCoxSTL AAACK!

When I have to read a post three times to figure out how you're doing your focus I shed a tear. I feel like you've inherited a bit of my style there and it makes me soooooo proud. Looks like a great and fun month. I love the idea of using two razors, one on each side then switching. Genius, my friend, genius. :smiley respect:

Seeing all of those there could almost convince me to check out more SE's. Nice bunch of razors that should lead to a very good month!
