    NCoxSTL AAACK!

    You have some very interesting razors there. You are adding to my SE and Injector fever. Hold me back!

    You? Use straights?!?! What, have you lost your mind?!?!?! Yeah, not surprised at all. Hey, they're single edge so they fit the month very well. Get that honing down. I have one that needs honed and it's just sitting here waiting on me to decide to do it.

    I need to be punished for that poll, or have @Bama Samurai add a category that has to do with me being incompetent this month. My only excuse - I did have to retype the entire freaking post after it wouldn't copy/paste for some reason. Had to print it from Word then type it.....all very late at night. The poll is the last thing that's added. And......at that time of night I've taken a certain pill for the night designed to keep my pancreas from bothering me. It also tends to fuzz things up a bit, if you get my drift. I'm very happy to see the OneBlade in your group. That's one I'd love to try.

    @NCoxSTL - thanks for doing the honors once again!

    @Keithmax and @Drygulch - keeping old school SE! Love that! You guys are now the resident SR faculty.

    @Douglas Carey - if the polls made sense, it wouldn't make sense!

    @clint64 - the Flag Bearer for SEptember! Welcome back!

    @Boojum1 - very glad to see you posting here! We got to up our pottery game this month now!

    @PLAla - welcome back Perry! RTR!!!

    @Jayaruh - hey guys, Jim is responsible for half my shave routine! Nice line up!

    @mrchick - dArK$iDe 4 lIFe!!!

    @wmbjr - welcome back. ROLL TIDE. that is all until January. Carry on. ;)

    @RyX - always a pleasure, and let's do this!

    @ob1page - now we're cooking with gas!

    I plan on mixing up a Schick G, a Revere, and maybe a shavette or two...so I guess I am doing SEptember as well. I will round up the gear in the morning and get a better plan on paper. An additional thematic element will be drugstore AS, a rotation of the stuff I like, globally! Good luck everybody, and may SEptember is the best yet!

    And Roll Tide.

    What is most ironic about the reference above my fine friend AAACK!, is that it was SEptember 2015 that exposed a 4 month DE newbie to Injectorland...and down the injector rabbit hole he went!

    I was smitten!

    12 months and about 20 vintage injectors later, comes the ensuing start of SEptember 2016 and....... I won't be doing injectors!
    SEptember 2015 led to 12 months of foci (focuses?) on all those injectors...which I still love, but they'll sit on my den sidelines this month.

    Instead I'll be giving my attention to a Gem Damaskeene, Gem Junior, Ever-Ready Shovelhead and perhaps another Gem like a Featherweight.
    So down another rabbit hole we go!

    Well tell Alice I say hello. If your trip down this rabbit hole is successful you truly be an SE Genius around here. Just have to add some of the modern ones for full Guru status.

    Stirling Synthetic Brush
    Razorock Don Donato SS
    Gem Junior Bar
    Stirling Unscented PSB

    This razor has definitely earned a spot among my keepers. Not only do I think it is one of the coolest razors I have, but it is a great shaver. Super smooth and easy. I can go on cruise control and get great results. I definitely enjoy it. I hope everyone has a great day!

    Blade: GEM Stainless
    Razor: GEM Featherweight
    Brush: Artisan badger
    Lather: Stirling Barbershop
    Post: Witch hazel splash, Mennen Skin Bracer, Nivea sensitive balm
    WTG, touch-up

    I'm beginning SEptember with my GEM Featherweight. For me it's a smooth, smooth razor. It is quite mild, but I enjoy that as it glides right through the lather with consistent results. Nice shave today with no nicks or weepers. Skin Bracer is a great complement to Stirling Barbershop with all the powdery notes. I like Skin Bracer a lot! I like Stirling Barbershop a lot, too!

    This was a great way to kick off this month. Hope you all have a great day!

    Hello 30 day crew. I am excited to start my 30 day focus of SEptember 2016 and decided to kick off the month using the Cobra Classic loaded with a new Feather Pro. The Brothers Bristles brush made by our own @Tdmsu whipped up the Mystic Water soap into a wonderful slick lather. With a slick lather and new blade, I decided to go with a 2 pass shave, ATG & XTG, followed by some minor touch ups ended in a wonderful near perfect shave. A splash of Fine L'Orange Noir and I am ready for the day. What a great start to the SEptember 2016. I hope everyone has a fantastic Thursday.

    Brush- AOS Fine Badger
    Razor- GEM MMOC/GEM 1912
    Blade- GEM
    Soap- Route 66 Barbershop Hop
    Post Care- Crystal Alum
    Thayers Witch Hazel
    Osage Rub
    Old Spice

    First day of SEptember and already I'm surprised. First, the AOS lathered up a wonderful bowl of Route 66. The scent and performance of this soap is fantastic. I loaded up brand new blades and used the MMOC on my right side and the 1912 on the left. I have always gotten stellar shaves from the 1912 and I did again today however the MMOC won the showdown. The right side of my face it more difficult to shave smooth, the hair seems to grow thicker and at weird angles. The MMOC just slid right through my whiskers, the only time I even felt anything was on my chin which is the quickest growing spot. The 1912 just wasn't as comfortable. I did three passes and I'm dolphin smooth but the alum determined the winner. Slight feedback from the 1912, completely silent from the MMOC. Considering the MMOC had the more difficult side, it was more comfortable to use and it shaved just as close but with zero irritation it was the winner this morning. I'll switch sides tomorrow for another round. Have a great day folks!
