My local antique shop has this razor, and I can't seem to ID it. The knurling pattern is not what I would expect for a New type head. Has anyone seen it before?

Sorry for the image quality. This pic was obviously taken through the glass display case.

I think it is a frankenrazor, tuckaway handle with a New head

Twist knob still looks too wide.

Tuck away handle with another model head? Maybe short comb new head. Or, some other head?

I think you are right Steve, it doesn't have bar in the bottom of the lower plate like a New. You win!

I'm pretty sure the tuckaway and lady Gillette used the same razor.

I would agree - just different packaging.

One has pins, the other doesn't? I looked for the pins and couldn't see them. And, I learned something about a model called the "Lady Gillette". I am no expert. Not by a long shot! SO many models, so many variations. So many shavers that put together whatever they had that they felt worked for them---- and moved on? Would be nice to hear or read their story!!!

This certainly looks a lot like the razor at the shop. Of course there is no case, just the razor.

Buy it! They are fantastic shavers!!! And the Lady Gillette and the Tuckaway (Norfolk) are the same razor. One came in a metal case (Tuckaway) with a meander pattern (Greek Key) and the other (Lady Gillete) came in a plastic three compartment case in pearl, jade, or coral. I have a Tuckaway and Lady Gillette Jade. Seriously, they give me the best shaves of all my razors...

She is asking a bit much for it at $75. She is a little all over the map on pricing. Some things have been very good prices others not quite so much. She is seeing the cased versions in good shape and thinks her razor is worth similar.

Yeah, that's too much. 75.00 with the case and the blade bank? Maybe... Even then it would have to be free of ANY bent teeth or handle cracks with flawless plating. I gave $80.00 for this one...
