    Thirty Days Hath SEptember!

First use of this "Magic" shavette that Mrs Samurai brought to me from her hairdresser shop. She told her stylist about my shaving habits, and the stylist commented that she had a shavette the she didn't ever use and sent it my way. So I did what any sensible TSD member would do. I cut a generic Personna in half and went to town. This is a nice shavette, it handles more like a real straight than the Leopard (not good or bad, just not the same.) I like it so far. Will get pix later, but it's an entirely different mechanism than the Leopard. Finally had a shorter day! Other than that... All is quiet in Colorado.

    Have a great weekend!

Looks good! I saw your sotd post in the other thread and though, "well that's new". Can you post some pics of the blade holding mechanisms of the two shavetts? Ive got one inbound from China that looks a lot like your leopard.

Yes it did, it was certainly a surprise. It was a toss up between it and the 1924 and while the Ever-Ready won by a slim margin I don't think I could go wrong with either. Thank you again for your generosity.

New razor to use for the next week. Schick G4 loaded it with the Dogs Dangles. The soap is WSP Lavenderwood. This is a very nice all-round soap. Very nice scent to boot. I used my 400 with the 49 Omega knot. Again a great Boar knot. I can't wait for it to get broken in.

Anyways I had A fantastic BBS shave. One weeper on my Adams apple. These blades turn anything into a shaving beast.

    Have a wonderful weekend.

It is Saturday after a long week so I went with our new franchise quarterback, Mastro Livi Gifretto.

The first shave with this razor was epic, so I had high expectations going into the shave. The razor has great weight and use a torque nut for the pin so I can adjust the tightness. The edge was super smooth and very sharp. Four passes and no blood, alum test.... zero reaction. Faceturbating.... Smooth baby smooth. An awesome shave and great way to start the weekend.

Spent some time this morning fixing my screw up, and got a decent edge on it. Finished on the pictured Welch slate. Not as smooth as what Glen had done before, but usable. Did three passes, and just barely got a DFS. Smoothness A-, sharpness A, irritation A-, closeness A-.

Pretty happy with the shave overall. Traveling to Phoenix this weekend, but currently stuck on a runway in Whitchata. Hopefully the rest of the trip is better. Won't be shaving again until Tuesday, and will see if I can touch up this edge on my Arkansas before the shave.

With this crew? Nothing more than a little blood here and there. Or everywhere. And even then we describe it as "a very nice DFS with only 10 stitches required".

Well since I have an extra day off this weekend I'll be having a bit of SEptember fun. Time to put down the DE's and blades and grab a couple of injectors. Tomorrow I'll be using my Schick Type E, same as last Sunday. I'll use Proraso, my Vie Long 12601 since I haven't given it any love lately, and of course the Chinese Schick blade.

For Sunday I'm breaking out my Type M adjustable. The number label isn't on the wheel but I have it marked and I'll be using it about halfway open. And....since it included an original open set of injector blades when I got it (has 5, maybe 6 still in it) I'm going to use the NOS blade for the first time in it. Let's see if those blades still have any life in them. Not sure of the rest of my setup that day but I'll figure it out.

On Monday the Grand Blade Trials continue with the Crystal and Q Ball blades on tap for next week as the Israeli lineup continues. My weekend will otherwise be filled with work as usual. And probably a shenanigan or two around here.

With regard to "generic Personna", banter about setting 2 being too loose is probably right. The blades are AAAA smooth and sharp in a shavette.

I appreciate you sharing along with the shavette. That definitely adds some interesting data as it's just as simple as a blade and the angle you yourself put on it. Nothing else in the way of figuring out how the blade is actually performing.

Thank you sir, let me grab a pic or two and we'll talk blade mounts for Andrew ( @linuxguile) ...

Leopard (two blade utility knife mount with retainer clasp)

This is a stiff mount, but it's tricky and not exactly trivial to change the blade.

Today's razor, the Magic Salon Razor, features a hollow blade shell and insert design. Much safer than above, and a nice shave as well. I like this mount the best.

Some how I missed Thursday and Friday. :think002:

    THURSDAY

    Razor: BV-3 Injector (Notso Comb)
    Blade: Schick (3)
Brush: WDC-6 Brass Handle Silvertip Premium
    Soap: Route 66 Lavender Woods
    Aftershave: Folsom & Co. Shambala

Another excellent shave tonight with these products. The heavy WDC-6 Brass Handled brush whipped up an amazing lather and applied it with vigor. The silent BV-3 removed the stubble in no time at all. Folsom & Co. Shambala was an excellent finish.

    Razor: Schick Injector G
    Blade: Schick (1)
Brush: WDC-6 Brass Handle Silvertip Premium
    Soap: Route 66 Lavender Woods

Excellent 3 pass shave this evening. The soap from Route 66 is amazing. The more I use it the better I enjoy it.
