Finally I have time to post my shave that was complete this morning. And really there isn't mush to report. A fantastic shave courtesy of a fantastic razor and products. I did the wet load method again and am discovering that it really produces that slick wet lather that offers great protection. No noise from the razor and no burn from the alum. Have a great evening gents.

That is one wild razor. Looks like something you'd find on French eBay. :git:

    Today's Shave: Sunday September 11, 2016

    Cobra Classic
    Kai Captain (1)
    Fine Angel Hair synthetic brush
    Stirling Electric Sheep soap
    Pinaud Clubman aftershave

The Cobra Classic may or may not be the best shaving modern razor that I own but it is unquestionably the coolest. :signs021:

Old school construction (heavily nickel plated brass), graceful curves, and perfect weight and balance in the hand, the Classic was also groundbreaking, being the first safety razor to use the Feather AC blades. Now the field had become quite crowded, but the Cobra remains unique. Of course none of this would mean anything if the razor didn't deliver the shave, but it does, and then some.

Lately I've been experimenting with Kai Captain blades, trying them in The General, an SE1 and now this. I find them very similar to a Feather Professional, perhaps a bit smoother, although that could be in my head - they're quite close.

Anyway, the Cobra/Kai combo produced a great shave this morning, super smooth and very close. The aftershave had quite a bite - not really irritation, just super close.

I've heard that Classic Shaving has had an ownership change and that the Cobras are being discontinued - not that they ever were easy to obtain - a shame.

Excellent shave with the PAL Adj. this morning. Wonderful, rich, slick lather from the KMF. Three passes for a dolphin smooth refreshing finish. Have a great day friends. :)

Today was my first shave with the Ever Ready 1914. I did a 2 pass shave and was not disappointed! This baby is efficient and a real talker! It was a DFS and even BBS in some areas. It will take some getting used to around the nose, but no problems. Blade loading and unloading takes but a mere 5 seconds longer than a Gem.

If you like Gems, you owe it to yourself to give an Ever Ready 1914 a try!

    : GEM Stainless
    Razor: GEM Micro-matic Open Comb
Brush: Satin Tip 'The Purest' synthetic
Lather: Through The Fire Fine Craft 'The Beast' sample
Post: Witch hazel splash enhanced with Barbasol Pacific Rush, Nivea sensitive balm
    WTG, touch-up

Pretty close shave with the GEM MMOC. A little redness on my neck but that's normal for this razor. It'll clear up soon. Otherwise a pretty nice shave. That razor is pretty aggressive and I have to be careful with pressure and angle. It's improving with each use.

    Have a great day!

I used my new C3 today. First pass was great! Better than with my B1. But the second pass looked like I got hit by a porcupine. Over all a DFS, and definitely a potential good shaver. I did notice the blade is just a tad longer than the head at the guard ends.

    Brush- AOS Fine Badger
    Razor- Ever-Ready 1914 / Ever-Ready 1924
    Blade- GEM
    Soap- Stirling Barbershop
    Post Care- Crystal Alum
    Thayers Witch Hazel
    Stirling Barbershop with menthol

First shave with the 1914 and I'm very impressed. It seems to have the smoothness of the MMOC with the closeness of the 1924. For never using this razor before it performed wonderfully. The AOS brush whipped up a nice lather with the Stirling Barbershop. I used the 1914 on my right side and the 1924 on my left. First pass the 1914 was very smooth, the 1924 was slightly rougher. Reduction was equal on both sides. After three passes I'm BBS everywhere. The alum was silent on both sides so the verdict is going to be decided in a few hours from now. Have a great day folks!

I posted this in "The Haul", but I figured I'd also post this here to see if I can get this answered. I have a question about this razor (#1), while similar to my other I (#2), there are four differences that I noticed. #1 - says "Schick", less blade exposure, approx. 1/16 longer, underneath says P222. #2 - says "Schick Safety Razor", more blade exposure, approx. 1/16 shorter, underneath says P10. Also I have a black handle one similar to #1 here, but no "P" number, but has "M34" underneath. Any help would be appreciated, thx. IMG_0719.jpg
