Thanks! I was out with a friend on a shoot today (she was teaching me, and taking photos of my kids for free..in between clients). It's a bit more investment than I thought...up front anyway, but I just need to do it.

She started a few months back and does it part time(though she could be full time easy enough). She said it's all marketing, and she taught me how she markets.

The main question problem I have is do I want to risk it on getting a strobe light and diffuser, or go much cheaper and get a Speedlite and umbrella (and sandbag).....

As for me: I've been working the last week and a half. Yup, I found a new job at last! I'm doing quality control in a canned vegetables factory. I'm doing my rounds each hour through the factory. Checking filling, the rims, the temperatures, the labels, the amounts of beans of specific lengths per can (it is green beans time right now), weights, etcetera. So I'm walking a lot! Luckily I like walking, so that isn't a problem. Working hours are 06:45 - 15:45 h for the day shift and 16:45 - 03:45 h for the night shift. One week dayshift, one week nightshift. And each day twice a one hour ride (from and to home).

At first I couldn't get all things and sequences figured out, but by now I can (just) manage. I get compliments, so they are (still) satisfied with what I do. So far so good!

Oh, and this is my outfit:

 

I'm having ice cream. 'nuff said.

 

Lazy day because of rain. Our teenage daughter is actually home for a change, so it's kind of nice.

Got over to Harbor Freight today and picked up a 4 inch calliper. I also test lathered my two latest brushes: the 109 and 110.

My family threw me a birthday party today. I am truly blessed to have such a wonderful family.

The Fire Department was on standby when all the candles were lit.

The fire's finally out, and the insurance agent just left. Thankfully, there were no injuries, and property damage was held to a minimum. My clothes smell like smoke and I lost both eyebrows, but I'm otherwise OK. I'm very happy to say that we saved the cake and ice cream! I'm sure the carpet will dry out in a few days. It was definitely a birthday to remember.
