I have the Merkur 34C and unless I put a feather in it, it's a very mild razor. The Pal adjustable I have never had the pleasure of testing, but the E4 Schick injector I used yesterday for the first time, was a revelation. Never before have I enjoyed a razor as much, no cuts, no weepers, no redness, no nothing, just a smooth BBS. This in my book beats the Merkur by a mile.

I couldn't agree more! The Schick E beats most all DE razors on closeness and comfort. Between my injectors, SEs and SRs, I have not picked up any of my DEs in over two months! That's how good these razors are!

E2, my go to injector.

Must be me, but I find my E2 and E3 VERY aggressive. I struggle with the angle and usually get irritation. I don't get anywhere near as close or comfortable a shave as with a DE. Just found a PAL and have yet to try it. Is the PAL more or less aggressive, the same or is it just different.

They all require a feather light touch Herm. Till you achieve this you will always suffer irritation.

I find the E4 injector so comfortably going through the stubble, I barely use any pressure and this is intuitive for me.

That's probably my problem. I must be using my Frankenstein muscles. Guess I still need more practice. I'll keep 'em for now.

Ride the cup to find the angle as it's little different than other DE's and start with no pressure, let the thing do the job.

Thanks for the additional advice. I like injectors, but struggle for a really close shave. I'd like to blame the razors, but...

I have a couple of G schick injectors in the mail (haven't seen them in the flesh yet). They are supposed to be milder than the E. How about a swap?

The G is milder, not bad. I've got the 2 E's, a G, a K, two type B repeaters, an adjustable and "The Hussy". Thanks, but I'm good for now. I want to try the PAL to get back to the thread theme.
