October 2, 2016 Wolfman WR-01 OC with Triad SS Feather (2) Rubberset 400 #3 with WSP HMW Nuavia Blu Witch Hazel A very close, smooth and relaxing shave this morning. The Nuavia Blu is very easy to lather with a complex scent that lingers long after the shave. Three passes with minimal touch ups ended in a near BBS shave. Off to visit my Mom for the day. I hope everyone has a great Sunday.

Thank you for the encouragement I guess it's an advantage that I have shaved with straight razors before. And you definitely should try the Egyptian Dragon. Fantastic scent - I think it smells like a distant relative of Stirling Barbershop, only much much less sweet, more spicy and tangy.
I had thought about joining the OCtober 30 day group. I have a number of nice OC razors to use, but this banged up pre-war tech I've been using is fantastic. I am having a hard time putting it down to grab a loved, but neglected New Deluxe. I will stick with the banged up tech and a crappy Rapira Swede for the month (once the installed platinum lux is done), a semogue BC Mistura and try to get through 5 almost tubes of shave cream that I am tired of seeing in the drawer.
SOTD October 1, 2016 Blade: Chinese Schick Razor: Schick L1 injector Brush: Artisan badger Lather: Stirling Barbershop Post: Witch hazel splash, Skin Bracer, Nivea sensitive balm WTG, touch-up This is yesterday's shave. Just now getting around to posting after a very busy day! This was a nice shave. I'm starting the journey with Stirling Barbershop and will use it almost every shave this month, as voted on by TSD. It will be a great month of shaves as it is terrific soap. I'm finding that Stirling can handle a bit more water than some other soaps. My lather was a tad dry to start off with yesterday but I added some more water when face lathering (more than usual) and got it to a nice state. One good thing about using a soap over and over is that you figure out exactly what to do to make tremendous lather with it. The Schick L1 injector will be my razor for the whole month. I'm looking forward to that as well. This was a nice shave. I'll probably not shave today as Sunday is my lazy day. Hope you all have a good day!
You know when you have to many razors when you post pictures of the 2 OC razor you that you have, then when cleaning your den you find another you forgot you had. The head is in good shape, however, the handle is cracked at the top and therefore the head won't seat securely. I do have handles that will fit so this head is in play for OCtober.
October 2 SOTD: Stirling Synthetic Brush Route 66 Ghost Town Koraat 8/8 Stirling Unscented PSB Ogallala Bay Rum with Lime and Peppercorns Ogallala Bay Rum Cologne The maiden shave with this razor, and it was fantastic. I did get one little cut right on my jaw line as I did not maintain a tight skin stretch, but I did a two pass shave for a DFS. In reality, in lost areas I am pretty much BBS, I just have a couple of areas on my neck that just missed out. This razor is definitely a beast, but it shaves well. I will use it more times this month to get used to it. It is a silent assassin, as it just cuts without noise. The old Star Trek line "Resistance is futile" comes to mind as there is no resistance from the whiskers due to the weight of the razor. It makes for a smooth shave. I will say, the Route 66 soap really does a great job with straights. It is so easy to get the lather to the perfect consistency. I capped this shave with Ogallala, which was a first for me as well. Between the soap and AS, my skin feels soft and supple. I hope everyone has a great day!
OCtober Focus; Attendance but not sure how focused. Cella & Omega Pro 98 OC Frankenrazor, fresh Feather Alum, P&G Old Spice Going into Open Comb Month, I find myself with little gear to showcase. I stressed the whole time this Frankenrazor ticked down to auction close. Think I paid more for the shipping than the tool itself. Never have seen another baseplate like it. It's stamped "NRK" & "Bostom" The first might be Kim Jung Un's playground, the second term isn't a typo. Not a town in New England as it defiantly ends with an M. Last I'd shaved with it, I'd left a Feather blade in. I lathered up with Cella and took a couple WTG strokes. Pulling like a dull blade does so swapped out for a fresh Feather. Relathered & finished WTG, more lather for ATG. Lathered again and XTG'd with some Bostom Slides for a SAS finish. Thought about cleaning up with an injector. Chose to not so I see how well it really works. Alum was all over tingly, but no nicks. A quick rinse and splash of New Old Spice left me mostly smooth, but not like the majority of SEptember's shaves. I'm considering dedicating this month to @twhite 's Bunny V3.1. Can I get a ruling on Open Comb or Not?
The maker says it is an open comb. There is no freaking bar across it. Tom P.S. Yes ruling please. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
