    EJ DE87 razor
    Astra SP blade
    Plisson/L'Occitane brush
    Palmolive Mentholated SC
    Osage Rub/Witch Hazel w/aloe
    Skin Bracer A/S w/added menthol

I have not used the EJ DE87 in years (literally) and thought, "What the heck" and pulled it out. Nice mild shaver that set me up for the day just fine. Not an everyday razor for me, but a darn nice one. Now go enjoy your day folks.

Nice shave again with this combination. I apologize for the ensuing boredom as you will see this soap and aftershave and razor a lot this month! I'm using Stirling Barbershop almost exclusively for October, as voted on by TSD in a poll. Great products that lead to nice shaves!

    Have a great day!

I will indeed try a sample of Stirling soon, and thanks for the comment on Williams. It should be a more enjoyable experience for me with a softer soap

Good morning friends! I had this shave last night before bed. The famed aggression of the Old Type can be easily tamed when you ride the cap and keep a light touch. Three easy drama free passes resulting in a DFS that left me relaxed and ready for bed.

On a side note I don't know if there are different levels of aggression in the Old Type heads depending on when they were made but this one is a pussycat compared to my Le Coq. Have a great day my friends!

One side of this bad boy is more aggressive than the other. Blade fits in snug but something is not lined up right. Even still, with light pressure and a careful hand, it gave a darn smooth shave.

That is a pretty cool razor. Is it a Gillette head on the Vibro body?

@Paul Turner - How is the Williams working for you? Can you get the lather to not dissipate once applied? That's my biggest problem with Williams. I find it to be really, really slick and would use it more often if the lather didn't pull a Houdini act.

Hi Perry. I'd like to get a little more lather than I've been getting, but I still need to crank up the loading process. But that could mean that other artisans lather better anyway. My Williams shaves have resulted in a clean, fresh face and chin-probably better than Rise/Noxema foam. I do get a few nicks now and then, which hasn't happened with Rise/Noxema, so I need to try to "cut" back on that problem(oooh, that was bad!!). My mug doesn't bubble over with suds(as in the picture on the Williams box). I'll finish this soap off, but then go back to canned for a while. I'm anxious to see if softer soaps will do better. Overall, I'm pleased with the result of Williams, but it appears to take more work to GET the result than it might with Stirling, Rte 66, etc.
