Today's shave and a big thank you to the Lord. And to my friends here. All seems well.
Hot water wash with nivea mens face wash and a washcloth
    L'OCCITAINE Plisson
Bombed Route 66 A Perfect Gent
Kinfolks "the Ace " 5/8 full hollow round end
Route 66 A Perfect Gent balm
The shave today was nice. At ease and rained in(most everything is closed). So a nice slow straight razor shave with the Ace. The Gent smells so nice, and the rich slick lather was great. The plisson is soft and performed better than usual. Three passes left me smooth and comfy, one little indiscretion (didn't even bleed) just under my jawline. Finished with the matching balm.
hope y'all did as well, or better. 20161007_094048_resized.jpg

That was unexpected! A BBS with this combo! Knew I would/could get a DFS, but way exceeded that. What a great way to start the day. Now go enjoy your day folks.

Haven't used my one and only slant in quite a while, so here it is. Absolutely no markings on it at all so I have no idea what brand or anything about it.

Today's shave was very enjoyable as well as freezing-cold. My Polar Vortex soap gave me tons of super-rich lather with a menthol effect that I'd say is comparable to the Stirling Frozen Tundra. The Lucky Tiger/Lemon Chill combo froze me out so delightfully. BBS and so easily - there's nothing like my 1950's Super Speed! :happy088::happy088:

Shave 29. I tried out the other straight I inherited from my grandpa. This had to have been a favorite as it has quite a bit of wear on the spine from repeated honing.

This was my first shave with it. Long story short: I got a really close shave from it but the Alum screamed. So, sharp but not smooth. Maybe too heavy a hand - time will tell. In the meantime I'm making progress with adding a slight scything motion to strokes and also getting better reduction under the jaw where the lymph nodes are. :happy036:

Is it just me, or has anyone noticed the increase of quality photos recently? TSD has some talented photographers. :happy096:
