The Haul - October 2016

Good review as always! Sounds like a good deal for someone who wants to shave with the AC blade but doesn't want the premium price of some of the others.

A modest haul, but one I'm excited about nonetheless! Both are new-to-me. The seller cut me a great deal on these two. I really enjoy how giving and helpful the wet shaving community can be!

1. Fine American Blend soap in this nifty container. Used maybe once or twice. Love the scent!!



2. Schick I1 injector. In good shape!

 

My favorite Schick, really smooth shaves.

Good to hear! I'm using an L1 at the moment and really like it.

 

When you get the other "I" you should notice it is a bit different than an I1. According to Billyfergie is is an early production I, model 55, if it's like mine and the head marking is the same. Top plate of head is a bit shorter and thicker. It actually feels smoother than the I1, at least to me it does.

 

It was a slow day at the monthly Antiques Fair. I'm starting to think I've picked it over.
I picked these four up. I'm a little concerned about the tarnish on the Dubl Duck Dwarf. I'll see what I can do with it. The price was right.

Wife drug me out to the antique stores today and I picked up these 2 straights for $28.



The Mowhawk Barber supply just needs a good hone and the Solingen has some rust. It will need some restoration and I am not a fan of the scales.

I'm no expert on cell rot, but it might not be just rust on the razor on the right in the first picture. Are those celluloid scales? @HolyRollah or @Billyfergie would probably know.

 

I thought about that and have emailed Larry...that one was $10 and I was able to rub some of the rust off.

Yep, my thoughts exactly. Just for safety sake @George X , don't fold the blade up, and store it away from other razors until you know for certain. I do like the look of the Solingen blade. New scales would look nice with that beautiful blade.

 

This weekend's finds...

45 NOS Autostrop blades and two PAL blades.

Eversharp injector with instructions. The Eversharp blade injector is built way lighter than the Schicks. Sadly the case lid is broken but I was able to talk her down because of that. The razor is spotless also.

And another Red Point and flair tip SS.
