You know you want to join dark side. A straight is quicker than a shavette. Just think how cool it would be to shave with a straight and finish with some Kouros.

I used my Case "Temperite" this morning. Two passes and I had a DFS!

This razor is my only wedge and it does have a much different feel than my other razors. It also is a silent shaver, with no audible feedback.

20161009_173229_resized.jpg 20161009_173420_resized.jpg just touched up Henkel. Been using my first synthetic brush since Monday and am very much enjoying it. Slightly less water shake out than what I'm used to to get lather where I like it but is an easy adjustment. Loving Bee Bee, thank you @Jayaruh. My standard 4 pass and bbs.

Tonights shave was with a freshly hone Japanese Razor. Two Pass shave with minor touchups. No Cuts or nicks, just fine smooth results.

    Razor- Vintage Japanese "Crown 888"
    Brush- Zenith Boar. Aluminum handle

It turned out ok. I need to get the correct polishing hardware to get good results. These 4 razors will be great practice. I have to decide what my next one will be.

I have the same polishing problems. But, I am more into the shaves, and getting the honing down, at this stage of the game. Just buffing out the majority of the rust, and putting a small shine is about all I want to do, for now. I get a little scared I might take too much metal off it I attack all the pitting. Plus, I don't like the mirror polished look.

    Two Pass Shaving Routine..

Hot Water Prep & Massage with Argan Oil
NOS Joseph Rogers & Son Miniature 4/8th Wedge (Freshly Honed)
    Kent Pure Badger
    Wickham 1912 Vegetal Soap
    Humphreys Witch Hazel

I had My Maiden Shave Today with My Newly Acquired Miniature Joseph Rogers 4/8th Wedge..This is a Detailed Miniature Version of a 7/8th Wedge..Its Hallmarked & Says Cutlers to Her Majesties on the Tang..It has Bone Scale so It Would Probably have been Made around the Mid to Late 1800s..The Attention to Detail is Just Amazing..The Wedge Grind to the Factory Bevel is Pure Industrial Perfection..;)

I have Never Honed a Wedge before but this One was Straight Forward being NOS with a Factory Bevel..It Took a Killer Edge & it Shaved Very Smoothly & Cut Down 2 Days of Whiskers Quite Easily..The Blade is the Same Length (40 mm) a Rolls Razor SE Hollow Ground Blade which I am Used to Shaving with..So it Shaves Pretty Much like a Hollow Ground SE albeit Requiring more Attention..:D

I Got this Quite Cheap & its a Good Job Cause I thought it was a Full Size 7/8th in the Sellers Pics..Whit a Darn Numpty Heid..:happy097:

    The Smallest SR in Town..:happy102:

With today being a holiday here in the USA, I had some time to try out my new to me Morley and Sons "Damascus" SR.

I picked up the razor at a flea market on Saturday and honed it up yesterday. The maiden voyage was great, with a smooth and prompt whisker reduction. I paired it up with a puck of Stirling bay rum soap and had a nice slick lather. Two passes was all it took for a satisfying DFS.

This razor makes a real nice ring as I strop it. I'm not sure if it's the grind, the steel, or both, but the sound is unique. Only my FW Engels razor sings like that!

Shave 30. Hmmm. Really close result, less noise from the Alum but more cuts and blood than usual. Best guess is I was distracted with some recent goings-ons and too tentative on my strokes causing the blade to dig here and there. :rolleyes005:
