  3. I wondered what happened to you! No Tiger blades in your absence, sorry to disappoint. Pretty hot and heavy on the Grand Trial with a few breaks for SE razors last month and Open Combs this month. We missed you around here. I was afraid there was a camera panning upwards as "My Baby Blue" played and it went to black!

  4. Welcome back to the 30-day crew, Ray! Nice set up today. I'm not sure those paint scrapers Neal uses can legitimately be called blades. :scared011:

Well, another rare No Shave today. Had my coffee, enjoyed my morning, went in to set things up for an OC shave and realized I really don't need to shave today. Not just because it's my day off but also because that 2 pass BBS from yesterday still looks amazingly smooth. Feels like it's just the end of the day, not the next day. That Tomy blade is an amazing piece of steel. I am totally surprised and amazed.

So, I've been doing some early Fall mowing, getting the grill ready to do some ribs tonight, and I'll be doing some blog work tonight finally. Other than that, we'll just offer up today's Halloween costume idea and call it a day! I thought I'd offer up one for our brothers in the Yakuza Cartel. For those who want to support both!

  7. Ah man...was hoping I would have some shenanigans to read up on!! Life threw me some curveballs but I am back. I missed it here!!! No camera panning yet.
  8. Well there have been a few shenanigans but with SEptember and OCtober it's been a lot of great looking razors and just a lot of chatter! I feel the tide turning, though.

    Razor: Thick Cap Ball-End OT
    Blade: GSB (1)
    Brush: VdH Boar
    Soap: Williams

Back again for another week of OC focus. Still staying with the razor from last week, but now with the GSB. In some ways, this may not be the best combination as the GSB is much more noticeable in this razor than last week's Rapira was. Still, I can't fault the results.

  14. Start looking for that Vintage Geritol, LOL!

    geritol 1.gif

The earlier Geritol liquid formulation was advertised as "twice the iron in a pound of calf's liver," and daily doses contained about 50–100 milligrams of iron as ferric ammonium citrate. The Geritol tonic also contained about 12% alcohol and some B vitamins.

Late night shave 36 hours after last one. The down side of dialing in technique is such close comfortable shaves that they can be more than 24 hours apart. Less is More? This was a no new equipment experience. I didn't try any new moves. Face lathered a tallow soap, used an OC/SE to it's intended purpose, post care in prescribed manner. DFS and done.

  18. Hello TSD :happy088:

Shave #8 of my October focus:

    - Mystic Water "Orange Spice Tea"
    - The Tuxedo
    - Feather Artist Club SS
    - Feather Professional (#7)
    - Homemade Bay Rum AS

Fantastic shave today, irritation- and accident-free. :happy088:

I decided to go back to my usual 2-pass-routine (first one WTG, second one ATG) and achieved an almost BBS result. I thought it was BBS right after the shave, but now, about an hour later, I can feel that I haven't been thorough enough at a small spot close to my left ear and along my left jawline. Still - very very smooth. I think if you really go for it you can achieve the closest shaves you might have ever experienced wih this razor.

And another great soap from Mystic Water. Love the scent, but unfortunately it is pretty light. I wish it was as strong scented as her Almond-Vanilla or the Egyptian Dragon. Anyways, matches nicely with my homemade Bay Rum Aftershave. My wife says I smell like christmas now :p

The Feather blade shows no sign of deterioration so far. How many shaves do you guys get out of them on average?

    Have a great day everyone.

    Blade
    : Chinese Schick
    Razor: Schick L1 injector
    Brush: Artisan badger
    Lather: Stirling Barbershop
Post: Witch hazel splash, Stirling Barbershop aftershave, Nivea sensitive balm
    WTG, touch-up

Nice, smooth shave again this morning as the Stirling focus continues. The L1 injector is continuing to provide excellent shaves. The lather from the badger brush is far suprior to the synthetic I used earlier this month. I may try the synthetic again but with less water. My first few lathers were too runny. It was dialed in just right today for excellent lather.

    Have a great day!
