It had a very sharp edge, but I wouldn't try to shave with it. The tip, at the toe end had a tiny burr, that I just filed down. You could feel it, just not see it. It wasn't on the cutting edge. The handle was slightly warped, so I put it in boiling hot water, and reshaped it with a popsicle stick. But, the tell will be when it's put to the stones, this weekend. P.S. It has a nice heavy solid feel to it, with nice lines.
You May find this Helpful...He has One about Setting the Bevel as Well..He is Using a 600 Grit for that Because a Lot of Metal has to be Removed...He then Goes on to the 1 K then Progression..These are Very Hard Carbon Steel.. Billy..
