Shame that doesn't work as well on bigger machines. Fumble fingers post via Kyocera / Tapatalk (subject to later editing)
I hear stories of people taking them without issuses, but I don't want to get in trouble while traveling for work. https://www.tsa.gov/travel/security-screening/prohibited-items
OCtober-een! October 15 Grand Blade Trials Razor - 1962 (H1) Gillette Slim (9) Blade - (3) Soap - Arko Brush - Semogue 620 Post - Alum Well another day started with the Veg and I guess I didn't use enough today. Absolutely worthless day at work. But, I came home early, was lazy for awhile and finally decided it was time to shave. Final day on the Falcon which has performed extremely well. Nice carbon blade from Treet who also makes the "Black Beauty" Double Edge blade. My favorite carbon. The Semogue does nothing but produce lather. And it made a mountain of Arko lather on my face. First pass with the Slim wide open and wow was it noisy. And the feel was, well, let's say aggressive. I should mention that there is no sign of rust on the blade after three days. I have been loosening the doors on it after each shave, dipping in 91% rubbing alcohol, shaking dry and allowing it to dry with the doors partway open in front of my small desk fan each night. Seems to have done the trick. First pass reduction was outstanding. Second pass XTG and I had to play with the angle just a bit to smooth it out. Carbon isn't quite as smooth as stainless, normally, and having it at 9 was a lot of room to work with. Third pass, ATG and Slide and it's done. Alum provided some heat tonight as I thought it would. Hard not to draw some irritation with this blade at that level. The result, however, is nothing short of a BBS again. Outstanding shave, overall, and this is a carbon blade that could find its way into my collection of "odds and ends" that I like to have around for a change of pace. However, I think the Treet Double Edge is smoother overall, so it will remain my "go to" carbon for those times I'm in the mood. The Falcon, though, is a usable substitute for sure. Next two days are off for the Trial. I'll be using the Fatip again at least one of the days. Maybe both or I may mix it up on the second day. Trials resume on Tuesday with the Gillette Silver Blue. Not too much mystery on how it will do. At least I can't think there will be any. Time for a late night snack.
You will not be disappointed with the Gillette blades. GSB is the blade I learned on, and even after trying many others, it's still the only blade I buy in bulk. If you like GSB, then be aware that it's Teflon (PTFE) coated and so when looking for equivalent blades, coating matters.
That's a real scar. Probably overkill as far as the chicks go... Hope you rest well and I pray you recover quickly!
Cuts and pain heal, chicks dig scars. That's always a good quote. I too have a large scar on my abdomen from appendix removal. Turned out that the appendix was as big as a sausage and I have a 5" scar to prove it. Plenty of other scars from cuts, stabs and road rash. Whatever. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Hello guys, had to try out my new "Martin" straight razor, so I declared this the "out-of-focus Sunday". Posted today's shave here Have a great day!
A new day and a new soap, well cream. For the next several days I will using D.H. Arlington. I love the scent and the cream always performed better and hard more intense scent than the soap. Today I went with my standard method for a soft this creme, bowl lathering. While it is not at the very top in term is slickness it is good enough for a straight razor shave so that is pretty darn good. Today I had my best shaving straight, Mastro Livi so maybe it was the easiest possible SR test. The edge was super smooth, so smooth I was not sure if it was sharp. I got a little over confident and lost concentration and proved to myself this razor is very sharp with a tiny nick. Just a tickle from the alum and a solid BBS. This razor has allot of shaves on it (for me at least) so even though it still shaves I will refresh it today. Irritation A Closeness A Smoothness A+ Sharpness A
If you don't want to try an injector in the carry on, you might consider giving the Gillette Guard a try. http://theshaveden.com/forums/threads/gillette-guard.46665/
October 16, 2016 Timeless OC .95 Gap with Triad Ti Feather (2) Rudy Vey R7 with Shavemac Finest MdC Fougere Witch Hazel Fine L’Orange Noir As expected the MdC was very easy to lather. I would be hard pressed to pick a favorite between the original and fougere scent. Sticking with a traditional 3 pass shave and minimal clean up provided a near BBS. I decided not to chase the baby this morning. I finished up with a splash of Fine L'Orange Noir. I hope everyone has a great Sunday.
This is probably the mildest OC razor. It took three passes to get smooth. OCtober SOTD Route 66 Sweeney Todd Soap Doug Korn Brush Grand Shave King Razor Alum Lucky Tiger Ogallala Bay Rum Have a blessed Sunday!
