  1. At least you do not have to pay the high price for shipping to UK. Sometimes the shipping costs more than the Razor:angry019::(
  2. First shave with the PAL adjustable. I found the handle a nice length for my long-fingered hands. Unlike Jim, I didn't notice any problem with slipperyness. The razor has good size and moderate heft, but I held it lightly and I comfortably put the tip into the center of my palm. I THINK the "L" is aggressive and "H" is less so, and I played with the settings during the shave. But, I really couldn't sense much difference in the performance even though I could see that the exposure was different. The angle seemed easy to find, better than my Schick E's, but not as easy to find as the Bunny. I've got a decent DFS, but my usually trouble spot (neck) is little less so, but not by much. No nicks, cuts or errors, an acceptable shave. All in all a nice injector shave, as comfortable as most I've used. I was in a hurry, but will pay closer attention to the subtleties of the razor tomorrow.

  3. HI Herm - glad you had a good first shave with the PAL Adjustable. If there is anything to knock it is that guys sometimes find the angle hard to find since there is so little feedback. H is the most aggressive setting. L is the least. :)

  4. Thanks Karl. I guess I got it backwards. I tended to like the "H" setting. I'll pay more attention tomorrow.

  5. Second shave with the PAL was OK. Half way through I was wondering why everyone has said this razor was fairly aggressive, I couldn't get it to cut anything. After a few minutes of head scratching and beard rubbing, I changed blades. What a difference. I don't know what happened, but the performance was better after. So, I still like the size of the handle, I find it very maneuverable and easy to handle. I did the entire shave on the middle setting and like most injectors it's a good shave, but not as easy or as close as my DE's. But, now that I'm getting more familiar with it, I'm sure things will improve. I love the look, too bad it's not all metal.

  6. For me it's sort of the opposite. I get great shaves with Injector or DE razors, but the stubble that grows back after a shave takes longer to show up from an injector shave, showing that for me, it actually is a closer shave. The first sign of stubble shows up a bit quicker from a DE shave.

  7. I agree with your assessment, but I'm usually the other way around. Will give her a couple more go 'rounds.

  8. For me, one thing I've learned is that with an injector, you can give it a little more pressure against your skin and it's more forgiving, unlike a DE razor. It helps get my trouble areas a lot better. But that's me.
  9. Shave number three with the PAL. The new blade from yesterday has made quite a difference. I had a three pass DFS with only a few trouble spot touchups. Although I did have lots of AS sting. I'm using a Chick blade, but mixing up the soaps.

Compared to my other injectors this razor has less audible feedback (actually, very little) and, strangely, has a very light feel despite its size. I find the angle to be easy to find with the "window" of optimum angle to be fairly small. Too steep and you're on the safety bar, too shallow and you're on the cap. Tomorrow I'll try the "H" setting to see what happens.

  12. You're dialing it in. That small sweet spot and limited feedback is exactly as you describe and throws a lot of folks. Glad you've caught the "shy girl." :happy088:
  13. Perseverance. I just picked one up among a lot of three razors (including also a Krona DE) for $20.

  14. I think you're right. I'll add a 4th shave update later today. So, this is the Shy Girl while the Schick H is a Hussey? But, I like both...I must have a varied taste in women.
