I think @jimjo1031 has the earlier version based on the knurling on the handle, which I think is better looking one of the G bars. It's a bit of a mild razor, but still gives close shaves. I enjoy mine when it's up in the rotation.
My Micromatic OC is a bit aggressive, but manageable. And my Pushbutton is mild but shaves great. I was thinking that the G-bar would probably be in the middle.
Never having tried any B&M products I'm rather excited about this set (shaving soap and A/S splash) of their Latha: Le Petit Chypre that I picked up for $20 shipped
Soaps have just never been top of my priorities. I have a bunch of Fitjar, Wickhams, original Klar Kabinnet and i Coloniali - and they are so good that I don't feel the need to buy much soap. I wanted to try the LPC when it came out (I believe it's a seasonal offering) but missed it so was happy to get this set for what seems like a decent price
You certainly have winners in that line-up. The latha line performs well, but the scents are subjective. Kinda hit or miss. Hopefully works well for You. If not, there are no shortage of B&M collectors...lol
Okuda Suita 奥殿…should make for a nice pre-finisher in the jnat progression. (Scale of 1-5) Hardness (4.5), Grit Fineness (5), Speed (5), cutting(5+); approx 2-2.25 x 8 x .6" — comparable dimension to my blue escher. I'll probably mount it to a plank.
Noticed that the unscented Japanese Mandom Lucido A/S (125ml/4oz) was selling on Amazon for $12.50 w/ free international shipping so decided to pick up a bottle as it seems to get rather favorable reviews It also comes in a rather neat glass bottle (photos from the world wide web...):
Waiting on this old French razor to arrive. I rather like the handle and the top cap has some interesting grooves in it
For quite a while I have wanted to adopt a brush from @Jayaruh . A couple of weeks ago I ordered a Tuxedo knot, but wasn't sure what I was going to do with it. Then last night, I was totally inspired by @RyX 's picture of his 400 with a Tuxedo in it. Today Jim agreed to make me one of his 400's in Oak. I think the light wood and the black knot will look awesome together. I am pretty stoked for this. Thanks Guys! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Thank you for crediting me with the inspiration! I must admit I was inspired by @mrchick 's before me. I think Jim @Jayaruh may have been the first to possess a Tuxedo. Does anyone also own a Plisson or WD synthetic knot? How would you rate them? I'm curious about the comparison.
For the Motherland, Comrades! May the Glorious Revolution serve the Proud Sons and Daughters of the Proletariat. I couldn't resist this beautiful 1956 Moscow from the STIZ factory. It's my birth year so I had to buy it, right?
