    Today's Shave: Friday October 21, 2016

    Asylum Rx
    Kai Captain Titan Mild (3)
    The Grooming Co. synthetic brush
Art of Shaving Sandalwood soap (old style tallow based)
    Captain's Choice Sandalwood aftershave
    Crabtree & Evelyn Sandalwood EdT

There is definitely a learning curve with this razor . . . and I think I've just about got it dialed in. :happy088: Today was my fourth shave with this razor and definitely the best. It was exceptionally close and smooth, with two tiny weepers but no irritation.

Looking at the razor, it appears to present the blade at slightly more of a downward angle in reference to the handle than, say, a Cobra or SE1. This requires what seems like a steeper angle in order to find the "sweet spot."

My L came in the mail today. I think it is a little "rare" in that it is gold?? Had a great shave with it using a Schick blade. I am still amazed at what great shavers they are, and how cheaply they can be found on Ebay if a guy is willing to spend a little time looking.

My DE's sure haven't been seeing a lot of use lately.

Hope you all have a great weekend.

  8. ER 1914 & 1924
Just finished shave with a 1914, following the 1924 on Fri. Probably got a closer shave with the 1914 though it took longer. Both times I used a 1/2 Spine shim, so both razors shave smoothly though the the 1914 had a lot of
audible feedback. On balance I still prefer the feel of a 1924 equipped with a longer handle.

  9. I'm always looking around when looking for deals. I always keep a watch on items starting low. especially near the end of an auction and that's how I got my type L Starting bid was $2.00 and shipping $2.45, and I was the only bidder. Worked out great, plus I used my E-bucks, basically free.
  10. It is a great performer. Nice and slick. It is. Very easy to lather. The scent is very nice.
When I run out, I will definitely buy more of their product.

Wonderful shave this morning with the Schick N1 injector. Excellent creamy, slick lather from the Route 66 Lumberjack shave soap. Three refreshing passes for a dolphin smooth finish. Have a great day guys. :)
  12. The Schick D got the call this morning....

The Schick L1 is a great little razor. I'm looking forward to trying out the Schick I1 when my focus is finished for this month. I also have the reliable and favored G1 to return to. Nice shave today with the L1 and Stirling Barbershop soap.

    Have a great day!

  15. Nice to see the D make an appearance. I just polished mine up the other day. I'm on a straight focus at the moment but have a Dog's Danglie loaded up in the D and it keeps looking at me - I can tell. :happy102:

  17. Can somebody clue me in as to exactly which blade a Dog's Dangly is?

  18. Dog's Danglies = Scottish Ninja slang for Dutch made NOS Schick blades - can't beat 'em.
