SOTD October 27, 2016 Blade: Chinese Schick Razor: Schick L1 injector Brush: Vulfix 2006c badger Lather: Stirling Barbershop Post: Witch hazel splash, Stirling Barbershop aftershave, Nivea sensitive balm WTG, touch-up Nice shave this morning. This focus has been a good deal of fun. Stirling products are certainly of high quality. Exceptional lather today and nice result with my one pass and touch-up routine. Have a great day!
No shave for me this morning. The Cadet did too good of a job and one was not needed at all. Oh well. I guess that is good?? Maybe I can sneak one in tonight. I will definitely be checking in, though, to see how the "he-man" razors work for @mrchick. Popcorn at the ready.
He saw a chance for greatness. He didn't post on this glorious thread asking for input first. He just spent $1.50 and is prepared to provide entertainment. @mrchick is the hero we need.

Ignoring the "For Ladies" label on the package, I dove right in. I lathered up some TSD Bourbon Vanilla with my Jayaruh #44 Brush and went to it. I was fully prepared for a crappy shave and had already suffered through derisive laughter from my lovely wife. My confidence level was not high. After the first WTG pass, things began to look up. I already had a bloodless DFS. Let's go for broke. Pass two was XTG and resulted in one small weeper but a very nice shave. The alum was even quiet. I actually wouldn't hesitate to throw this in a travel bag for emergencies. For some reason, I'm now waiting for a comparison of Japanese and Russian women given that Japanese women potentially shave with a straight razor.
Oct. 27 Soap - Proraso Green Tub Brush - Omega 10098 Boar Ceramic Suribachi Bowl Blade - Blade - Gillette Silver Blue - Russia Razor - 1937 Gillette Sheraton Aftershave - Ginger's Garden Green Tweed splash on and Ginger's Garden Green Tweed Cologne New blade today and a nice smooth uneventful two pass shave. I'm starting to scrape the bottom of the Proasso soap tub (I just figured out what to use to store spent blades). Aftershave & cologne smell great. Now I'm wondering if this forum is going to do No-Shave November for a focus...
October 27, 2016- Oh, Milord Razor: '48-'49 Gillette Milord Blade: Astra SP (4) Brush: Floppy Chinese Pure Badger Soap: Nutragena French Milled Soap I'm definitely off the OC focus and on a Milord mini-focus. Today was a repeat of yesterday with the same great result. The Astra did seem a little bitey at times, so it may be nearing its end for me.
I couldn't imagine that No Shave will be very successful here. The suggested activity is No Variation, but all thematic elements are unofficial and any focus is welcome. No Variation Novemeber is a prelude to the suggested Decadent December, or the month where anything goes, especially higher end or luxury grade products in a free for all.
You do you don't tug on Superman's cape, You don't spit into the wind, You don't pull the mask off the old Lone Ranger, And you definitely don't mess around with a dude wielding a pink ladies kamisori...
Mongoose B3/Feather Pro (4) Shave Revolution 24mm Synthetic MWF Thayers The Veg Great shave today! No cuts, blood, or irritation. Also preparing for Halloween I am thrilled to let @Drygulch and @NCoxSTL know I still fit in my best dress.
I'll let you make your own judgement call on Russian women VS. Japanese women. Beauty is in the eyes of the beer holder. Or vodka. Plum wine?
