    Grand Blade Trials

    Razor - 1962 (H1) Gillette Slim (6)
    Blade - [IMG] (2)
    Soap - Arko
    Brush - BoS Omega 10066
    Post - Alum

Second day on the Gillette Wilkinson. The Indian Wilkie that supposedly (if you read enough reviews and such) doesn't live up to the reputation of the German Wilkie. Well, I'm here to dispel that rumor. At least so far. Last night at the mild 2 this blade produced a smooth and very nice DFS. Tonight on 6.....the baby is in the house and it was as smooth as smooth gets. I have no complaints at all about this shave and the alum provided evidence that it is a smooth as I thought. Minor stinging around the goatee line. That's normal for me. Nothing else. Not sure why some have considered it a bit inferior. I certainly don't at this point.

Now, as has happened with other blades so far, it's possible that tomorrow at 9 will turn this into a harsh finish. But, as far as on the mild and medium levels go....this one is a winner. I'm impressed.

Four days left in the month my friends. NOV(ariation)ember is fast approaching. I'm considering taking a break from the Trials for a Rule but still thinking. By shaving at night I'm giving myself more time to work with razors I haven't had a lot of time with. Still mulling it over. Hope you are having a great week and have a great weekend planned! And if you happen to be in India this coming weekend and don't want to ride the train - there are other options!

Magnificent shave with the PAL Injecto-Matic this morning. Wonderful, creamy, protective lather from this IB Amici shave soap. Excellent post skin care as well. Three refreshing passes for a dolphin smooth end result. Have a great day friends. :)

I'm loving this Beaudelaire set, and the Reserve Spice is excellent, while not interfering with the aftershave scent.

Another great shave with plenty of menthol goodness from the Egyptian Ingram cream. It smells exactly like the British version but lathers better, easier, and never turns watery. The Lucky Tiger/Floid Classic combination was as always, delightful! :happy088: :happy088:

    Brush: Omega 10049 boar
    Lather: Mitchell's Wool Fat
Post: Witch hazel splash, Fine American Blend, Nivea sensitive balm
    WTG, touch-up

Fat Friday! Mitchell's Wool Fat did not disappoint this morning. The lather was terrific and the Schick L1 glided through it with no issues. The post shave feel is great as well. Fine American Blend completes the process along with witch hazel and Nivea balm. I really enjoy my Friday setup.

    Have a great day!

I've never seen that version of Nivea before. How does it compare to the sensitive balm in the white container?

    Today's shave
Hot water wash with nivea mens face wash and a washcloth
    Semogue 620
    A Perfect Gent
    Gillette New Standard (28)
    Astra sp (2)
    A Perfect Gent balm
Today's shave was nice. The 620 does such a nice job, night and day from when new. The "Gent", hard to top. Last OCtober offerring, a New Standard, this one with no mystery or modification. Great shaver. Finished with the matching balm.
Hope y'all did as well, or better. 20161028_083537_resized.jpg 20161028_082323_resized.jpg
