Interesting. So this "Kit Set" must of have been the basis for the Khaki set (same thing, just in green canvas). I love how English usage has shifted over time: "Here is news for the man to travels on train, boat or motor." I think we would normally say "on a" or else "by". I'm kind of wondering what a "timber cruiser" did for a living, though? Also, is it me or did the cartridge era kind of kill off the idea of the traditional travel shave kit?
Timber Cruisers were timber tract assessors who would look at and then estimate how much wood could be logged from a specific stand or tract. The vintage version of todays foresters. If you ever see a cruiser jacket like from Beans, Filson etc, that's what they are referring to. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Score! There is some nice stuff in there. I like the aluminum one and the white and blue plastic one next to it. The one I have is a Dubl Duck M-2. That looks pretty similar, but less dented. One thing with those to keep in mind, they are a thin layer of aluminum over a wood core, so don't sand them like crazy to polish like a 400, or you might go through the metal.
Visited my honey hole in the wall antique shop where I bought my first FatBoy about a year ago. Today's find: another $5.00 Gillette. Now I have the set of three! Tapatalk Via Kyocera
The wife and I stopped by the local Smiley's Flea Market looking for Thomas the Train stuff for the grand kids. I got these for $10. Now, I am off to clean up that Slim (H2). I have fond memories of my Atra, so when I saw this, I was elated. Pretty good haul. The Trac // was a bonus.
I saw it's twin, a Slim for $6.00. I passed on it. That blue tip SS shifts me from "User" to Collector. Tapatalk Via Kyocera
