October 29, 2016 Timeless OC .95 Gap with Triad Ti Feather (2) Elite Razor “Tres Amigos” Beehive with Envy White Mystic Water Eucalyptus & Spearmint Witch Hazel Myrsol F/Extra I prefer to use MW soaps in shave stick form. Many find MW soaps finicky to lather. However once mastered I find the performance of the soap among the best I have tried with excellent slickness and post shave feel. The Tres Amigos brush is a true joy to use. The Envy White knot has as much backbone and scrub as my boar brushes which made lathering the MW Eucalyptus & Spearmint easy. Going with a traditional 3 pass shave, I had a near perfect shave going. I let my mind wander and placed the razor against my face much to quickly. Not a good idea with this blade exposure. So operator error messed up a great shave. I finished off with a splash of Myrsol F/Extra. I hope everyone has a fantastic Saturday.
October 29 SOTD: Stirling Synthetic Brush Wholly Kaw Jamestown Gentleman SS Gillette Old Type Stirling Unscented PSB Wholly Kaw Jamestown Gentleman AS This was shave number 7 on this blade, and it is still going. I have to admit, I am pretty impressed with this blade. I paid $7 for the pack of 9, which is $0.78 per blade. So far on 7 shaves, it works out to be $0.11 per shave. This is similar to what Feather blades cost per shave, and I prefer this blade to the Feather. I still prefer either Rapira PL or Voskhod blades, both of which are cheaper, but the local availability of this blade is a huge advantage. I hope they get some support from wet shavers so that these blades continue to be stocked. I will plan on buying more when I get low on these. This shave ended in a DFS, and I am getting on well enough to chase my trouble spots, so that is a good thing. I really enjoy this Wholly Kaw Jamestown, both the soap and AS. Their products are as good as anyone, and this scent is great. This was definitely a good start to my Saturday. I hope everyone has a great day!
Day 5 - 28-Oct-2016 Not my best shave but acceptable. In fact one of the worst shaves yet, excluding the derby blades experience. However all is not lost. I've noticed that the Proraso Aftershave Balm combined with the Witch Hazel has completely eradicated the below average shave. Gotta say the Proraso stuff is top notch. Constants - Pre Shave: Proraso Pre Shave & KOS Oil Brush: Omega Boar ????? Soap: La Toja Razor: EJ DE89 Post Shave: Ultra Pure Witch Hazel with added Lime Essential Oil Variables - Post Shave: Proraso Balm (SS) and JPG Le Male Ultra I'm a pure nerd(and proud) with my constants and variables
Doug, I really enjoy seeing the beautiful colors and great set ups in your SOTD photos. How do you like the Vigoroso? I like the mild menthol kick it provides after a nice shave. For some reason, we don't see a lot of folks around here using it.
You get it! That's the point of the 30 day Rule/Focus. Eliminate variables, evaluate performance. While I can't help buying and using new to me products (that's why they are called Acquisition Disorders) I try to stay on Focus to eliminate hardware issued. That reduces errors to Operator Failures and ultimately successes.
Yes I'm beginning to see that now. I definitely got overconfident today. I also suffer from Acquisition Disorder. Luckily I'm a student(again) now so don't have the funds to buy all the things I'd like to.
It's not advisable to get behind on the thread and attempt to catch up several days in just one sitting.

well, you got one out of me and I wasn't even included in the list. Why did you get a Rise out of me? Because that is what I shaved with this morning!! (I know, BOO BOO)
Earlier I asked the question, is that the same Rte 66 that begins in northern Virginia?(it's the Dulles Airport Access Road, from DC to Dulles).
