The other one is the Schick C3. Actually my bucket list was just reduced to one razor minutes ago when I found a Type O :bounce017:

    Grats!!
Do try a twin blade in the Type O sometime - it's shaving nirvana :)

But the Rocnel doesn't have play does it? I missed the Ikon order but am feeling better about it.

No. I was super pumped to try one, but was late to the party, and by the time they became available, reviews had already knocked me off of that fan bus.

No, zero play in the Rocnels once the blade is in. I was just making a joking remark about fiddly blade loading/removal :)

I like the shaves with both the G and I, but I prefer the handle of the I's a lot better also. Seems like the grip is better and just feels more comfortable.

I wish Schick would've made more of these all metal injectors. They look great and I'll bet they feel great to use as well. Excellent pics of some beauties there Billy!

I just now shaved with it, and I have to say I am pretty impressed. If my grade on it was a D before, I would give it a B- now. If I was only grading based on the shave, it would get an A. It is a very efficient razor, and similar to my feelings about the Blackbird, it feels a LOT milder than it is. It definitely left my face with an R41/H2/Mogoose smooth shave. I did irritate my neck a little bit and left a couple of weepers when I went ATG, but I blame myself not the razor. The razor deserves respect, but it shaves so mildly that by the end of the shave, I really wasn't paying much attention. My bad.

This thing definitely shaves like it cost more than $40, even if it was built like it cost $10. I am kind of on the fence with my opinion about this one. I know it was cheap, but Razorock built the Hawk for half the money, and it fits together to tightly Joe should have charged two more dollars and sent a shoehorn along with it.

Some pictures of it next to the Razorock Hawk for a comparison:

My El Jefe arrived today so I haven't had a chance to shave with it. I was also surprised and disappointed with the tolerances on the blade posts.

I believe that the bottom picture is the way that it is supposed to be aligned, but it is easy to tighten it down as in the top picture, or anywhere in between.

I don't expect the degree of precision found in Asylum Rx, ATT SE2, etc. but it ought to at least be as good as my $20 Razorock Hawk!

The other mystery is just what it is made of.

The website does not say. The consensus on the various shaving forums is that it is made of aluminum, which would also be in line with the price.

However, the head weighs 1.1 ounces, which is literally twice the weight of my Alumigoose 2 head, despite the Alumigoose having considerably more metal.

    We'll see how it shaves.

So my new Pal Adjustable came in today and it is a beauty! It is the shiniest of my Pals and has the least cosmetic dings. It even came with the case and a near full magazine of Pal Premium blades (love those old metal injector magazines):) Everything seemed exactly like I hoped, until I tried to turn the dial. It is SUPER hard to turn! I thought after my clean/disinfect process with some mineral oil lubrication it would smooth out, but so far it seems to have had little effect. Anyone else experience a similar issue? Not a deal breaker, but a pain. I have noticed that on the H setting the safety bar doesn't touch the blade stops like my other Pals. It always holds it out a millimeter or so.:signs002:

Mine has no problem turning but also doesn't sit on the blade stops and can have some misalignment issues.

The Blade & Comb Set Up is Correct..Dont Compare it to Other Injectors..Its a Very Unique Design..The Dial Can be More Stiff on Some that Others..That isn't the Adjustment Mechanism anyway..So Don't Worry About it..The Spring Mech is Inside the Handle..:D

I'm back on the injector bandwagonb after visiting OC razors for OCtober. Tomorrow I'll exit the OC foray early and try my 'new' Pal injectomatic.

Thanks Billy! Always appreciate the Injector PhD giving his thoughts:smiley respect: I think the first Pal Adjustable I purchased last year was stiff at the beginning too and has loosened up since. Maybe this will be the same? Oh well. Not a big deal I suppose. Everything else about it looks almost as if it has never been used.

Yeah. When I first popped in a new blade it went in a little cockeyed and I had to kinda jimmy it into place. The beautiful Pal Adjustable seems to be a different animal than most of the Schicks. When you insert the key nothing really seems to flex outwards and snap back against the blade to hold it against the stops. However, if I'm not mistaken, there is a metal panel inside the Pal that does get pushed back and provides forward tension on the blade. Billy?

Thanks Roby! Talk about a revolutionary/intricate design. I think Billy said it best. If they were to try to make this razor today it would be hundreds of dollars.

I agree and less people would be shaving with DE's. :happy097:........:transport022:
