1. So the little lady and I decide to go to the Mecca of all hoagie shops…

Anyway, she wanted Subway so we went.

Here is the odd part. In her haste she forgot my debit card (you know she handles the money) we found this out AFTER the Sammie’s were made.

Game plan, she waits and I go get the card. NO, the manager says “you pay me later”.

Needles to say I could have had 16 dollars worth of food for free, yes I went back the next day and paid the man.

Just had to share this story because some times a word of honor or handshake dose mean something in this world.

If you are ever in the Grater Landover Area (near Six Flags) head on over to Subway... Eat Fresh.
  2. It's nice to see that kind of trust and honor in today's world. You, sir, displayed the quality of a true Maryland gentleman.
  3. This is good to hear. I thought a man's word or a handshake is no longer good in our day and age. I wish more gentlemen where like this
  4. Too often we hear of the bad things that happen, which , I suppose is why we watch the local news or read the newspaper, but isn't it nice to hear of good people for a change? It gives one hope that the world isn't totally a crummy place after all. Thanks for sharing this, I hope you gave the gentleman a generous tip. :happy088
  5. I don't know about the Mecca of all sub shops part, but it is good to see that there is some trust - especially froma corporate chain....:D

  6. I think it was the Aqua Velva. :D

Seriously. It is good to see that in a society that lacks even the most basic of social necessities.
  7. I gave him a 20 and said fu-git-ab-ut-it.

I guess you missed the sarcasm on the Mecca part. :D
  8. You must frequent that store quite often. Same thing happened to my sister at Chipotle a few months back. The Manager said, "You're in here all the time, just bring it in tomorrow." :D
  9. Ahhh.. Chipotle! If we had that here I'd be a regular too!
  10. Not sure how big Mexican food would be in Sweden. Speaking of that is any one other than me a little ticked that Starbucks put a store in the Great Wall?

Sorry about the highjack just wanted to know.
  11. Very good. I expected nothing less from a shaving enthusiast.

:signs002 What is the correct terminology for a shaving enthusiast? :signs002
  12. Happy sufferer of sharp, shiney and bristlely things? or HSSSBT?
  13. I had no idea this happened. I think the mass developement of starbucks is a little over rated.
  14. First time in the joint.
  15. could be. :signs002 This might be a good thread topic in General rofl.
  16. I don't care! I want CHIPOTLE! :D (Got hooked on it when I was in US a few years ago... next time we got back the first thing we did was go by the Chipotle franchise and bashed ourselves up on fajitas!)
  17. Sorry, I lived in the DC area for almost 20 years and knew plenty of people that thought Subway was good deli and Dominos made good pizza. Never mind the bagels at Dunkin'Donuts - please accept my apologies. :D

  18. Wow. A bold move by that Manager, then. Cool!
  19. Ah, the warm fuzzy story of the year! Seriously though, it's always nice to hear about people that still show deceny and honor these days. If you think about it, a lot of that goes on right here at TSD. I've seen plenty of classifieds for free razors and really great prices on ones being sold, and we are doing business with people whom we only know through their snippets of thread replies. Chivalry lives on! :D
  20. very cool.
