Despite the rough rollout of Shavecraft's El Jefe, I have to say that it is absolutely of the best shaving razors I have ever used. I am not an Ikon fanboy by any sense of the term, but for the twenty dollar price tag they are selling for, I seriously recommend picking one up while there are still some left. I know Greg was hinting earlier about a SS release, and if they ever get their tooling issues squared away with this, I would buy one in a heartbeat. It is that good.

Who do you love... Love the Hawk. But a bit of irritation on the head shave with it today. First try of the Maca Root stuff, good performer but not really fond of the scent.

 

Today's Shave: Saturday November 5, 2016

ATT SE2 w/Jurgen Hempel titanium handle
Feather AC Professional blade (5)
The Grooming Co. synthetic brush
Stirling Electric Sheep soap
Pinaud Clubman aftershave

It seems somewhat surreal to be faced with this bewildering array of new razors that use the Feather AC blades. For several years it was Cobra or Mongoose, neither of which was readily available.

Today I chose the SE2 from Above The Tie, which is an open comb (sort of) version of the SE1. This was shave #5 for the Feather Pro blade, and it seems to be just nicely broken in. A great shave, pretty close to AGAIG (As Good As It Gets), no weepers and not the slightest bit of irritation.

I feel like I've been neglecting my vintage SE's.

Today is a good day because I had a nice morning shave, and got to go again tonight. Injector razors are such a blast. Every time I shave with one I think I may have found a new favorite. The reality is that I just haven't found one I don't like to shave with.

Yep! I whole-heartedly concur my fellow "Schick-Head" I've said it before and I'm sure I'll redundantly rifle it off many more times in the future....But I've never met a Schick I didn't dig.

 

Well this shave I got yesterday, was one for the record books. Even my wife; who has enjoyed rating my shaves for some time; remarked "This one is really something special, it's just not normal...}8^))"

So tonight, while I have last night's shave so solid in my mind, I'll try for the same level of BBS, with my Schick Hydro-magic. I'm really interested to see how they will compare...

 

Seems to say, "I Only Have Eyes For Schick"
This would have made great copy, back in the "Madman" days of the 60's...You're a very creative cat. Roby...You could of had a great future at "Sterling Cooper & Partners"

Really starting to see what you mean there Bird! The Schick folks really knew what they were doing in making a simple, effective, comfortable, easy to use razor that offered something the Gems and Gillettes weren't.

Proraso Blue post shave balm.
Avon Mesmerize as lotion.
Avon Mesmerize cologne.



Today's shave was a bit harsh. The razor was a gift from a friend, and I wanted to try it out to show proper appreciation for the gift. Unfortunately when I inspected the razor, I discovered one of the blade stops was missing. I should not have shaven with this razor but I did anyway. I ultimately ended up with a half dozen nicks, and an SAS for my trouble. Moral of the story, - follow your instincts.

Excellent shave with the PAL Adjustable injector this morning. Wonderful, creamy, slick, cooling lather from the Palmolive Cool Menthol shave soap. Three refreshing passes for a dolphin smooth finish. Enjoy your day friends.
