My numbers are very similar with @Karl G ...But like 'K' said, there are many variables...also how well you prep your whiskers, and how long you go between shaves....and not to mention, if you have whiskers like @Billyfergie...the question becomes, "How many blades do you need per shave!"

The G1 keeps on rolling along. Great little razor. Used Derby Lemon cream for the first time today. It lathered easily and was pretty slick. I ended up with a close shave with easy effort.

First shave ever with Wickham 1912 Citrus Musk shave soap made by Darron. I'm thoroughly impressed. The soap loaded in mere seconds and face lathered it produced a voluminous, slick, wonderfully scented, rich lather. The scent and consistency of the soap speaks of a man that takes pride in his craft. It's perfectly balanced to my taste and I highly recommend it. The jar is wonderful as well. Three refreshing passes for a dolphin smooth finish with a wonderful sharp citrus musk scent that lasted throughout my shave and well after. Enjoy your day friends. Thank you Darron!

Nothing new for me here.. Just for me the best on balance combination I've tried and I have to go back to it. I prefer its feel to the PAL Adjustable and its nimbleness to the Hawk/General. Having fun trying to find the right balance between glycerine and oils in the shave gel stew, no problem doing three passes on a single application.

Just a quick PSA for Hawk owners:

So I ordered a Black Hawk because I just really don't care for chrome. I figured I would just sell the chrome one, since they are to be no more, and people are looking for them. I got the black one today, and all was fine. I had a little wax lubricant on the threads of the chrome one so I figured I would clean it up a little before I boxed it. I tossed it in my little electro static cleaner and..... it bubbled up the chrome plating. So the moral of the story is:

Be gentle with your Hawks. The plating is what one should expect for twenty bucks.

Thanks @ilts . Steve, the bunny arrived in style, with our mailman bringing it right up to the front door.

I used the bunny this morning and got a wonderful shave! After looking at the three combs (mild, wild and not so), I went against what might be conventional wisdom and used the "notso".

First impression is that this razor is over the top! Engineering is fantastic, with everything being of a fine precision and well built. This razor would last a lifetime or two! The head is big! I was a bit intimidated at first, but got over that in the first pass. The handle provides a good grip. At first, I thought it would weigh more. The razor is no lightweight, but it is not heavy. I'll guess and say it's in the neighborhood of 3 ounces/70 grams. I'll weigh it tonight. It's also a very nice looking razor, with contrasting copper and machined aluminum.

Finding the proper angle was not intuitive for me at first. I had it, then lost it and then had it again. Concentration helps here. With the big head, I couldn't shave around my nose. Then I thought I would handle it like my Gem razors and I was able to shave around my nose just fine.

I used a modern Personna blade, along with Stirling bay rum soap (thanks @ezlovan ) and just love the scent and slickness. I topped it off with some Aqua Velva musk. A total of two passes got me two nicks, but also a fine BBS shave all around.

I know it's just one shave, but this is a great razor!

Really nice shave this morning with the G1 injector and Razorock Classic soap. Not much to report! Smooth, comfortable, and easy shave. Hope you all have a great day!

 

My first use of MWF soap, second with the handsome G4 with vintage Personna resulted in a pretty underwhelming shave. Not particularly impressed with the Wool Fat and the cutting ability of this blade in this razor was not up there with the best. I set aside both and finished the head shave with the Plus Platinum equipped PAL Adjustable and my own shave gel with much better results.

 

I am still playing with and exploring injectors, but I have come to one rock solid conclusion: The G is my ultimate razor when I need to shave more than once a day. It is efficient enough to get me back to BBS, and comfortable enough to leave my face feeling good after. Most other razors can leave my face feeling a little raw if I go for BBS on shave 2, leaving me to settle for a DFS. This razor is amazing in its balance of attributes.
