Shave Who gives a hoot Seriously though. The straight focus is going great. Tonight was another CCS to DFS. I am totally loving this journey. It is way more challenging than regular razors. Anyhow here is what I used tonight. Tom Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
In about 21-31 more days it should all just fall together. Keep on it! Angle really is everything. The first 29 shaves were spent learning to hold the razor and exploring strokes. You're shaving now. ☺
15 November 2016 Deviation into Menthol Two pass Voskhod excellence. Smooth... Plan for tomorrow, with a heroic Veg finish: Tomorrow will be spent Winterizing! Measurable snow coming Thursday night...was 80F on the prairie under full sun today. Other than that...all is quiet in Colorado. Have a wonderful Wednesday!
November 16, 2016 Wolfman WR-01 Ti OC with Hempel TiPersonna 74 (18) “Los Tres Amigos Dos” CH 2 Synthetic LERoute 66 LumberjackWitch HazelFine L’Orange Noir The Personna 74 just keeps going with another very good shave this morning. Three passes and minimal touch ups ended with a smooth comfortable shave. As usual the Route 66 was easy to whip into a rich slick lather. Finished up the the shave with a splash of Fine L'Orange Noir. I hope everyone has a great Wednesday.
Gillette Tech Bulldog Handle Gillette 7OC Russian Green (4) Semogue BC Mistura Mystic Water Sandalwood Rose Soap Alum Last shave on the blade this morning. It was a nice shave, a little tuggy up front, but was able to complete the job without much irritation. Just past the half-way mark for the focus... My personal progress report would point to my primary focus being successful. I have dialed in technique with the tech and am have had very nice shaves so far. I have no desire to use anything else right now and have put my other non-tech razors away for the time being. My secondary focus of using up some dregs of shaving creams is going well also. I have finished tubes of tet-a-tet and co bigelow. I have three other creams that I am working on. I may finish one more of them this month with the other two by the end of year if I am lucky.

The background is actually an old salad bowl my grandmother passed on to me. It's a great salad bowl. I got the idea of using a bowl from @clint64. Have a good day Kathleen.
Brush Jayaruh #94 with Whipped Dog high mountain badger knot Soap Mysitc Water Vetiver & Oakmoss Razor Rockwell s6 #4 plate Blade Feather (1) Fine Accouterments Green Vetiver Aftershave Splash with a good amount of Guerlain Vetiver Eau De Toilette Vetiver Wednesday! I put a new blade in the s6, took a big whiff of the new container of Mystic Water Vetiver & Oakmoss and started loading the brush. After building an overflowing bowl of lather, I applied the lather to my face with the badger brush. One thing that I noticed about this soap is that the lather is not as thick and rich as my Henry Cavendish or AOS soaps. Not even as much as my Proraso tubs, but the soap is as slick as any I've ever used and the scent is a very luxurious, earthy smell that I throughly enjoyed. The shave was my standard 2 pass N/S, E/W shave ending with a DFS no touch up required. No nicks, weepers, cuts or irritation of any kind. I then applied the Fine aftershave splash and the smell of cut grass filled my nostrils; nothing as earthy as the soap. Then a few sprays of the Guerlian eau de toilette which has a very complimentary scent to the aftershave. The Guerlain is definitely a very similar formula. In the end, I had a great shave and am really liking this vetiver combo. The dry down, tames the sharper citrus & vetiver scent to something more mild and woody with a hint of pepper. I'm not sure this would be a great Saturday night combo, but very nice for a fresh daytime scent.
Wow, that sounds like an ordeal. And as far as protecting sensitive areas, well that seems like an evolutionary trait. Those without it are doomed!
November 16, 2016- "No Expectations" Focus Razor: F2 Gillette FatBoy (4/5) Blade: Astra SP (1) Brush: VdH Boar Soap: Mineral Fusion I ended up home yesterday waiting on Xfinity and skipped shaving again. So, with 3 days growth, I picked up the FatBoy for today's shave. The WTG pass was with a setting of '4' but I bumped it to '5' for the ATG pass as I was concerned about the first pass reduction. In the end, a decent shave was had with the exception of a scratch on my neck.
NOVember Focus on track Arko and OPAL #12 Fatip/Muhle & Astra SP Alum and The Veg Good soap and a vintage brush. Hybrid razor performing well. No nicks or blood and alum was smooth. Heroic Veg finish! Good shaves Y'all!
Razor:Timeless Stainless Steel OC .95 gap w/Timeless Pineapple Handle Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (4) Brush: El Druida Red Heart Chakte Kok/African Blackwood 2 Band Soap: Route 66 The Black Pearl Aftershave: Folsom & Co. Shady Past Excellent three pass shave with a bit of a clean up around my chin. The shave soap The Black Pearl is reminiscent of exotic spice cargos of yore this mysterious fragrance sets sail with fresh, herbal top notes over soft floras and a medley of spices. Accented with a smoky depth of vetiver, myrrh and wood grass. Excellent soap.
November focus for me: Picked up the courage to buy a vintage Sheffield straight razor and going to verrrrryyyyy slowly try to learn how to use it without cutting myself to bits. Apart from that just carrying on with the DE shaving as usual. Tending to use my Parker 24C most at the moment as it is such an effortless, no hassle shave.
