Ok I will officially join the Revolution comrades. After re-honing the blade. I went all the way back to 1k. I killed the edge and reset the bevel. I then eliminated my circular strokes. I went with X. This seems to be the ticket for this razor. Measuring the blade i stayed with 2 strips of tape. Tom Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Came home today and ...... Still no Russki. Shipped 10/24 so that makes it... hold on I had to get my calculator out, 22 days.
I picked up two Soviet blades from the post office yesterday. One with a blade just under 5/8 and original scales, and one with a larger blade and home made scales. Not sure when I will have the time to hone them.
Thinking about it, a lot of the other guys have got razors from the same guy. Maybe I'll give him a shout.
1954 Yacht tonight One rocking shave tonight. The Commies got this one right. Tom Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Da comrade, embrace the Motherland and she will embrace you. Congrats, the memory is sure to stay for some time.
The more I check out the shave. It is a fantastic shave BBS in most areas. Really looking forward to being proficient with these things. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I tracked from other side, they say "parcel left Ukraine on October,26 and now in transit" - this really takes too long, but I hope package get final destination shortly.
While I was waiting for the Russki I found a nice J.R. Torrey. Decent looking blade. Hopefully the Russian will be here soon...
I see a couple of other Soviet razors I'd like to get but I'm holding off until the first one gets here.
Last nights shave was better than I thought. It is still a close shave 24 hours later. I am bummed as there is no need to shave tonight. I will have a nice early morning trip with my Yacht tomorrow. Tom Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
