    : Chinese Schick
    Razor: Schick G1 injector
    Brush: JR boar
    Lather: La Toja shave stick
Post: Witch hazel splash, Country Club Sweet Water aftershave, Nivea sensitive balm
    WTG, touch-up

Pretty good shave today with La Toja. The G1 was terrific as always. The lather from La Toja dried up on me some. I always seem to have that happen with shave sticks - drying lather. I rarely have that problem when loading on a pick then face lathering. I need some more work with shave sticks it seems.

    Have a great day!

I hear you, Big Guy. FWIW, the only really good shave stick lather I have ever had is when I grated it into a bowl and lathered it like God intended.

Carrying a puck around and face lathering seems like just as much a space saving of a solution, so I have never spent any real time trying to make a stick work.

Put a Super in the Hawk for tonight's motel shave. The combination of a heavier handle and that blade, turn this this razor into a real animal. I am definitely "dolphin smooth" as Roby would put it. Similar to the Alumigoose, with the light aluminum handle and a Pro blade, it just wasn't for me. Still find it interesting that the General, with it's light handle and a Pro blade gives me an excellent shave. It is definitely my favorite of those three.

The Maggard 22mm brush is my new travel synthetic. It replaced a Simpson Classic 1 synthetic that was simply too small, and too dense with ridiculous backbone. The Maggard reminds me very much of Muhle's V1 Black Fiber. It does an excellent job, and one certainly doesn't feel like he is sacrificing anything being outside his den. Just an excellent deal for $12.

    Goodnight All

I tried the Super in the Hawk and found it quite harsh. On the other hand I use it in the General and find it works just fine there for me.

I enjoy the finished product I get from Super's but the comfort isn't there, for sure. They also seem to need a couple of shaves to mellow out. Maybe a little palm stropping would help. Not sure how you would hold the little bugger tho.. I haven't used them a ton in SE's but gave them a fair go around in my Feather AC. I gave up on them in that because they just werent necessary for me.

Welcome, my friend....I think the C3 is just about perfect! I read OV Rodrigues patent on the smooth guard bar...and he was very much impressed with his testing and design. He thought he had hit on the best guard bar improvment up til then. And we're talking about the same cat who invented the C, D, E, and F types!

As far as open-combs go...for me it depends on the razor....I think the Gillette Senator OC shaves better than any Super Speed or Gillette Adj. that I have tried....But I think the C-3 wastes even that open-comb...}8^))

Marvelous shave with the PAL Injecto-Matic this morning. Excellent, slick, protective lather from the Arko shave stick. Three refreshing passes for a dolphin smooth finish. Have a great day guys. :)

Thanks for the C3 info. I do agree with your opinion of the Sheraton topping the OC list....still didn't stop me from trading mine away though:D

Is the Shake Sharp an SE? I dunno up to you. Let's pretend. Anyway another Shakey Town experiment, this time two (yes 2) stacked Perma Sharp blades. I'm guessing the second blade is adding stability (the SS is a real blade bender) rather than doing any cutting but whatever it was a phenomenally efficient head shave, equal to my best AC injector shaves (and better than my Personna 148 experience) if not as comfortable. DIY oil only, cold water, no brush or soap, don't try this at home.

Magnificent shave with the PAL Injecto-Matic this morning. Excellent, bountiful lather from the Arko shave stick. It face lathers wonderfully. Three refreshing passes for a dolphin smooth finish. Have a great day friends. :)

I'm coming to the conclusion that I don't get a whole lot of good shaves from my Feather AC blades. I replaced the Feather in my E2 after 3 or 4 shaves with a fresh Plus Platinum and had a dandy shave this morning. Since I do daily head shaves as well maybe that's all I can reasonably expect. I really need a system for keeping track of this stuff as I really have no solid idea how that compares. I've read about this thing called pencil and paper but am not really sure what that's about.
