Your observation on the wild comb is about the same as mine. It's very efficient, but I had a fear I would slice myself. Well, I didn't and maybe all I needed was to get more familiar with it. I really liked the notso comb, I was comfortable with it and could manage a BBS every time.
Last Bunny shave with the WILD comb. Soap - MWF Today I used the WILD for the third time and, for the first time with the Bunny I had two weepers. One just wiped off and was gone. The other, on my upper lip, required styptic to stop. Nothing major, but a reinforcement that the WILD is not for me. I'm just too aware of the blade to be comfortable. Funny, I like aggressive DE razors, but definitely not aggressive DE razors, go figure. Tomorrow I'll switch to these MILD comb and move on. So far, NOTSO - 1, WILD - 0. HERM
Friday Bunny Shave Soap - Maggard Green Apple First, while I like Maggard soaps I don't particularly like the scent of the Green Apple. It's slick enough, but it really, really smells like green apples and the scent lingers. Shaved with the MILD comb exclusively today (sorry Karl) in another 3 pass shave (WTG, XTG, ATG). This comb is more my speed. No nicks, no runs, no errors. I felt much more comfortable and didn't have that feeling of impending doom. I could relax and enjoy the shave. I'm finding that the Bunny is actually easier to navigate on my normally difficult areas, like my neck, than it is on flat areas like my cheeks...but then it's probably me, I always get things backwards. I'm going to use the MILD comb tomorrow and then send the Bunny on its way. I'll give some overall thoughts then. HERM
Hey Herm, im glad you liked the mild comb. I found that one to be an easy, comfortable and close enough shave. It's not as close as the notso comb, but still a decent shave. Try the notso comb ad you may find it to be notso wild, notso mild, but juuuussssstttt right!
Final Impressions - BUNNY V3. I enjoyed my time with the Bunny razor. After experimenting with the combs I settled on the MILD for me. For some reason I don't like aggressive SE razors, but I like more aggressive DE razors. The handle on the Bunny, while not particularly slippery, always made me feel like it could be slippery and easily dropped. (No...I didn't drop it.) I think its been suggested before that some ridges or other type of knurling might help. The shape posed no problems and many time I found myself holding on to the bottom "bell" of the handle; it was very maneuverable. The angle took a bit getting used to, but it acted much like the Schick H with the head design using the curved spring on top. The best angle I found was with the top of the spring just lightly touching my skin and the blade at a fairly shallow angle. As I noted in an earlier post, for some reason I found the razor easier to use on my neck rather than my cheeks. The only real problem I had was loading a blade mainly with the first blade, the second and third blades loaded easily. (Especially, after I wedged that screw driver in there. ) So, all in all, a nice SE razor, easy to use, comfortable and efficient. Thank you Tom for permitting me to use it again.
