The Arko Shaving Stick face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #61 boar brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Gillette Goodwill LC with a Personna Super blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse and alum block, I finished off with T.N. Dickinson's WH and then Pinaud Clubman After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

I had and sold 5 different LPL soaps, including the Rose de Pushkar. They're good soaps, but they simply didn't make the final cut in my shave den.

SHAVE OF THE DAY



Prep: Musgo Real Oakmoss
Razor: Gillette ball end tech
Blade: Gillette Black (4th shave)
Brush: Maggard 26mm synthetic
Soap: Gustafsons Stubble Management
Aftershave: Master Topaz (iced)
Balm: Proraso Green



Had a veryear nice and refreshing shave this evening. This new Gustafsons soap formula has flown under the radar and is a bit of a hidden gem. The lather is on the creamy side and no bubbles, and this scent is a mix of peppermint and anise but mostly peppermint. Top notch performance and it doesn't act like a veggie soap, since it has great post shave. Finished off with the musty barbershop scent of Topaz. Hope everyone had a great shave!

Just my choice of cream will be different because I was watching a You Tube video on it. Everything else remains the same. This Tibet is awesome stuff and because I received two new tubes of it I thought thought I'd enjoy a shave, the Bangladeshi way!

This is the only LPL that I have and I would have to agree that it's very good, but not a top performer for me.

Tonight's was just a really pleasant shave. If someone told me that I was going to have to repeat this shave every day forever, I could live with that, just fine.

I am glad you guys started this little chat. I have been eyeballing this soap lately, but am thinking twice now.

It isn't crazy expensive, but at that price a guy doesn't like hearing phrases like "didn't make the final cut", and "not a top performer".

 

Steve used to turn such fluid and elegant handles! What a shame he stopped.
