Which actor do you think plays the best James Bond and which movie do you like the most? I think Roger Moore plays the best Bond myself. To me he passes off as British better than anyone. His movies seem to have better plots as well. Man With The Golden Gun is IMO one of the best Bond movies ever made.
I like Daniel Craig. The last few movies have been terrific, i like how they've tried to tie up all the loose ends.
This is hard to say since the series has spanned so long, which has meant different directors, writers, producers, etc. I voted for Sean Connery as the best. He is the quintessential Bond who started it all. He is just great all around (acting, fighting, showing class, humor, and of course...a real ladies man) Without his efforts, the series would likely not have made it. Second for me would likely be Daniel Craig. He has an advantage of great photography, writing, and just pure production money spent on his films. His acting is excellent as well. Roger Moore and Pierce Brosnan are the most underrated. Both as smooth as it gets. Moore has a GREAT sense of humor and timing, but he suffers from the silliest plot lines. Brosnan was essentially built to be Bond through his previous framework of films/TV roles, but he was a victim of ridiculous gadgetry. It is hard to give George Lazenby too much credit since he was only in one film, but anyone is better than Timothy Dalton. Lazenby has a super macho, i-dont-give-a $#!+ attitude. Dalton, while still decent, is the last if the bunch. From some questionable performances, to writing issues, cast flops, etc...he is the last place contender.
Tough decision here... I'm going with Sean Connery just because I get a kick out of him. All have been great for the part, but Daniel Craig brings the James Bond movies to a whole new level!
Ah, yes, the eternally divisive questions: politics, religion, and who was the best Bond. Like most other movie series the first was the best: Dr No with Connery. Johnny Carson once asked Connery what he thought of Moore's Bond. Connery said he felt that Bond should be believable as a person and didn't think Moore's portrayal was. I'd have liked Moore better if he hadn't brought a slap-stick kind of frivolity to the character. Daniel Craig is a solid #2 if only because he wasn't the original.
For most of my life, I have said Sean Connery, but lately, Daniel Craig seems to be a tougher, more realistic version of James Bond. Plus Craig takes a good beating and isn't afraid to show his messed up hair, and a little blood.
I agree with Craig as number 2, but seriously...he has a huge advantage; from production money spent, quality acting brought in around him, film quality, writing, etc...he has a big advantage going in.
I mean Sean Connery is good but I just cant get past his scottish accent, but thats just me. Thats why to me Roger Moore pulls out the win. I can buy Moore being British but not Connery. My second best Bond choice is Brosnan. I like all the new Bond movies but you can never beat the originals.
Sean Connery, mainly because I saw "Thunderball" at the Texas Theater when it came out way back when. He was the greatest thing since Miracle Whip when you're 10 years old. And he's got that suave, ladies' man attitude while having no problem about popping one in your head at the same time. Daniel Craig has to be a close second...he's just got that "just give me a d*mn martini" attitude and will totally mess up your whole day just for giving him the side-eye. I couldn't sit through 20 minutes of Lazenby and his smart-aleck one-liners. Moore seemed to be a buffoon. The other two? I have all the movies except the newest, so maybe I'll (try to) give them a watch & see.
Sean Connery is the best James Bond. Goldfinger is my favorite Bond movie. He wears the best watch of all the Bond actors also.
I like Sean Connery because Roger Moore tended to play the part a little tongue-in-cheek. I think that made some of his movies more comical. HERM
Spectre was very good. It is on the weekend Walmart after Thanksgiving sale on Blu-ray for $9. They usually run them until they sell all, so you can often get them up to a week after black Friday.
I voted for Mr. Connery. If you read Ian Fleming's novels, Bond was not a nice guy. Sean Connery in the early movies brought that to the table. Pierce Brosnan showed flashes of it. Daniel Craig has also. Moore and Dalton were just place holders.
