Well as usual the weekend was entirely to short and Monday morning arrived to early. In an effort to brighten a rainy day, I elected to use MdC since I just love the lavender scent. The BSB 2 whipped up a rich lather. I've found that by incorporating water slowly, MdC can be made into a slicker lather. Not as slick as some but more than enough to do the job at hand. Since the shaves with the Goose have been so consistently good I just stayed with the same 2 pass routine and touch ups in my trouble spots. I ended up with a near BBS. I finished the shave with a splash of Fine Lavender. I am off to the Orthopedics office this morning for an early morning appointment. I am hoping to get some relief for my back. I hope everyone has a great Monday.

Day 3 with the 195 and a Feather blade. Today was just and smooth and effective as the first 2 days. 2 passes and a DFS. I have the Gillette Adjustable set on 6 and that seems to work quite well for my face and whiskers. I'll keep with the blade until the performance starts to suffer.

Good luck getting some relief with that back. It is a real bugger when they aren't right.

Looks like a decedent Monday shave! :happy088:

Take care of that back. It is amazing at how much back pain can impact daily life.

    Razor: M3 Schick Adjustable (4)
    Blade: Chick (1)
    Brush: VdH Boar
    Soap: Mineral Fusion/Dove Hydraring Cream

I thought that, for this week, I would turn my attention to an Injector razor as I hadn't used one since some time in SEptember. The M3 Adjustable has been a bit more problematic for me than my J1 but I wanted to give it another go. In keeping with my current mantra, I dialed it back a bit to a setting of '4'.

The result was a very close shave, definitely DFS, but with one weeper from an obvious technique fail. (It is Monday, after all.) I suspect that this week will be about trying to get into an Injector mindset.

Whenever I see that second picture, the one thing that jumps out at me is that the head seems to be crooked on the handle. I don't know if it is an artifact of the picture, a problem with the head screw, or a problem with the handle thread. Have you ever tried a different handle with it, just to see if it tightens down more or straighter?

Thank you both. Well I hope things are moving in the right direction. I have a oral steroid pack to take in hopes of giving some relief while waiting on a steroid injection into the spine. With any luck these will reduce the inflammation of the spinal nerves and reduce the pain in my right leg. They seemed to work last year so I am hopeful the treatment will work this year as well.

Sounds a bit promising. My doctor told me a couple of years ago that the steroids would have less than a 5% chance of success on my back. He recommended surgery to remove part of the ruptured disk. I can tell you that for about two or three days after the surgery, I was sure I had made a mistake. It got better, and the leg pain is gone. Unfortunately, I have been numb in my shin ever since. This little stomach surgery has my back all out of wack again, so I can definitely sympathize with what you are going through.

Thank you. I don't want to derail the thread so I will send you a pm to discuss. I would like to hear about your surgery.

Brush Jayaruh #94 with Whipped Dog high mountain badger knot
    Soap Henry Cavendish Himalaya
    Razor 1947 Aristocrat
    Blade Feather (1)
Aftershave Ginger's Garden Dragon's Blood with a good amount of Tabac Cologne.

I got this soap when I first started DE shaving and it never really impressed me. Then, I revisited it and it makes a very creamy lather with very little effort. It is now my "go to" soap along with Proraso when I want a good lather and don't want to have to work for it. I'm continuing on this month "riding the safety bar" on the Aristocrat. This takes focus especially loaded with a feather. So far the key is concentrating on the angle and keeping the blade moving. Today I got a DFS with a little touch up needed under my chin where I probably was a little over cautious with the angle.

Good morning friends! Last night I had my first truly decadent shave of December. I made a wonderful, shiny, yogurty smooth lather from my Stirling Executive Man. The Pal Adjustable, The Shy Girl, whispered sweet nothings into my ear. Swipe by swipe the whiskers faded away and left not a hint of irritation. The Alum was silent, the AS splash was cooling and man did my face feel great! Hope you all have a great day my friends!

It's a picture issue. I think the light reflection creates that effect. When looking at it with the naked eye it's centered correctly.

Overall great shave today. The Goose loaded up with a Feather Super Pro knocked down my 4 days growth with ease. 3 passes resulted in an effortless BBS shave. Finished my shave with Thayers, a cold water rinse, and enough Veg to knock over a bull.

Mother nature left me a surprise this morning.....

Since my Schick has been floundering in USPS purgatory, I've continued focusing on my Weck Sextoblade. Loaded with a Fromm blade. RazoRock Plissoft Big Bruce brush, Tabac soap, Thayer's Witch Hazel, Tabac splash on cologne. My WTG grain passes are now effortless. Working on my ATG. No blood or irritation today. Minor neck touch ups (ATG) with my RazoRock German 37 slant. All in all a very successful and satisfying shave.
