  1. A great photo. The razor and brush look fantastic. Have you tried the Schick blades or only the Personna?
  2. Where you live looks exactly like here in Montreal! (almost!)
  3. Thank you ;). I have only used the Personna blades so far. Schicks are ridiculously expensive over here - more than 8 Euro for a 7-pack compared to 7 Euro for 20 Personnas. But maybe I'll buy some Schick blades in February when I'm on vacation in Florida.

  5. Huh, I didn't know Arko made AS balm. Does it have a scent? How does it treat your face?

  6. I've only used it a few times, but it seems to be working very well. Not a strong scent.
  7. I really like the outdoor photos in the snow. :happy088: What did you think of the Arko Balm?
  8. I got it in my secret santa gift and I've only used it a few times, but I think it is good so far. Really not sure of the scent. It is soothing though.
  9. Soothing is the most important part as long as the scent is not over the top.
  10. I just checked different sources and finally ordered 4 packs of chinese Schick blades for $19 on amazon.com - they charged a very reasonable shipping fee to Germany: only $5 !
  11. The scent is definitely not over the top. :happy088:
  12. That is good price with shipping. I enjoyed the Chinese Schick blades more in my injectors. I hope they work out well for you too.
  13. Clint, I hope and pray you find some back pain relief. I can think of no pain worse than back pain. Take care of yourself!
  14. Thank you Charlie. I am much better today. While waiting on the steroid spinal injections, I am taking 6 day oral steroid pack. The orfal steroids have eliminated the shooting pain down my right leg. This gives me hope that the injection will work at least for while.
  15. That's the impression I get with descriptions of most Lucky Tigers.
  16. Gillette Flat Bottom English Tech Bulldog handle
    Gillette 7O'Clock Blue (3)
    Semogue BC Texugo
    Soap Commander Love
    Alum
    Nivea Balm

After a few days with the LC New, it was time to move back to the tech this morning. At one point, I really enjoyed the LC New and used it solely for about a year. I still get great shaves with it, but it is too aggressive for a daily shaver for me. i think i will give the New Deluxe a try again after i finish out this blade in the tech.
  17. Decadent December continued but AdP cream is retired again due to performance. What a shame, it smells so good. To get back in the groove the next soap up is AoS tallow.

The hardware today is a Dovo Bismark 2 and Rooney brush. Ah, wet, slick lather, perfect for SR shaving. 4 passes and I thought all was perfect but I had a small cut. Other than the small amount of blood no irritation and BBS.

    Rockwell 6S/ R6 Plate/ Voskhod (1)
    Shave Revolution 24mm Synthetic
    Stirling Gentleman Shaving Soap
    Thayers
Stirling Gentleman W/ Menthol Aftershave Splash

Broke out the Rockwell 6S for the first time in a while and while an amazing razor I was quickly reminded why it has been collecting dust....

Great shave today. The Shave Revolution brush whipped up the Stirling Gentleman into a great lather. Popped in a fresh Voskhod into the 6S and went to town. 3 passes later earned me a BBS shave with no nicks or irritation. Finished off with Thayers, a cold water rinse, and a handful of my chilly version of Stirling Gentleman.

So why has the Rockwell been collecting dust? I am enjoying SE's a lot more then DE's lately. Me and my Mongoose are pretty exclusive and before the death of my Pain Stick the Goose and CJB where all I was using. I love the Rockwell and always get a great shave from it but I just don't reach for it enough anymore to justify keeping it in the Den (Not to mention the constant ribbing and threats of whacking me over the head with it if I don't start using it more from SWMBO :scared003::scared003::scared003:). More then likely going to put it up for sale or trade and invest in getting a straight razor and strop as I am ready to embrace the dark side of only using SE's.
  20. Jared, that's a great looking brush. I hope it works well for you. A few of us manly men have broken out the R41's this month. :D
