I truly enjoy using this brush. The weight of the brass handle combined with the excellent backbone and flow through of the Druida knot make this brush a lather making machine. The Rossa provided a wonderful slick base with a great scent making the shave all the more enjoyable. A 2 pass, XTG & ATG, followed by minimal touch ups ended in near BBS. I hope everyone has a great Thursday.

Thanks Clint :) Your setup isn't too shabby either - brush looks great and I love the Triad handle on the Mongoose

Aggressive is the proper term, as far as I am concerned. I enjoy razors that are considered efficient, have tried a whole bunch of them, and several remain in my den permanently: R41 (2013), Fatip, Futur.

The Tech is absolutely the meanest, orneriest DE razor I have ever used. It isn't even more efficient necessarily, just obnoxious. It's like a harpy devette that lures you into some sort of false sense of security. I never had a shave with mine that wasn't a full blown BBS, and never gashed or irritated myself badly, but it was never once a comfortable shave.

It is a beast. More than I wanted to handle on a work morning for sure. :)

This may sound crazy [Remember who is writing this :) ] , but when I first started working the soap I had the smell of the bug juice we used in Vietnam. Years later we found out it was a very high percentage of DDT. It did work well though. Could be just me or a flash back. It has happened every time I've used it. I also didn't find it as slick or that it provided the same cushion as other soaps I have used. IMO.

    Gillette 7O'Clock Blue (5)

    Institut Karite Shave Soap
    Alum

The shave was nice enough that I decided to give it another go today... Smooth as a catfish's belly...

Different scents or combination of scents can trigger memories so it doesn't sound crazy to me at all.

The Feather blade was pretty smooth in the Merkur 3 piece. I did pick up a couple of weepers on my throat which stopped easily with cold water. On to my day.

This morning, my shave was again accomplished with my SA-109, loaded with an Astra green blade. First pass set on "7". However, the second pass was also on "7" due to HouseHold 6 coming in to ask me about some decorations for Christmas that needed to come out of the basement. Sooo I did not dial down to "5"as I had been doing. And to be honest I got a better shave. Two passes, no touch up. I'm now on the horns of a dilemma. For my next blade audition should I stay with the 7 & 5 or go to strictly 7. My face was none the worse for wear with the double natural, but I could use some second opinions. Have a great day Gents!

Wow, what a pretty brush. I don't suppose I could talk you into a couple of close ups sometime?

Nope, it is the opposite, it's between a 2o11 R41 and Fatip.... very aggressive. Just the way I like my razors.
